On April 11, 2025, at approximately 1455 hours, I arrived at 329 HUFFAKER RD NW, ROME, GA 30165 (SUNOCO HUFFAKER), regarding a hit and run that just occurred. Upon arrival I made contact with [VICTIM #1] and [WITNESS #1]. Both explained to me they were parked in the parking lot at a gas pump when a white vehicle backed into their vehicle. They stated the driver, a black male adult, about 5’6″ tall, heavy set, wearing a snap back hat, and the passenger a shorter skinny black female with no hair, got out of the vehicle and checked on them and their small child, two years of age, [JUVENILE #1], to make sure they were OK. [WITNESS #1] stated the female kept saying we gotta go to the male, and when he looked up they were pulling out of the parking lot. He took a photo of the vehicle license late as they were pulling out of the parking lot. He showed me the photo of a White Pontiac Vibe bearing GA plate [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

I went inside to the gas station to review security video of the incident. The cameras did not capture the actual accident, but I could see a black male driving the vehicle as it left the parking lot.

A records check showed the owner of the vehicle to be [WITNESS #2], at [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Officer Jackson and I arrived on Tamassee and located the Pontiac parked in front of building [REDACTED]. The vehicle had damage to the back left corner with blue transfer paint on it, just as [WITNESS #1] had described. Officer made contact with [WITNESS #2] and Kenterrius Kent at apartment [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

Kenterrius and [WITNESS #2] matched the description given, and when I asked if they had been involved in an accident at the gas station, they admitted they were and that they got out and checked on the small child in the back of the Honda. Kenterrius stated that the other couple stated they were all OK, so he left the scene. [WITNESS #2] stated her grandson, [JUVENILE #2] was also in the vehicle when the accident occurred.

A records check through dispatch showed that Kenterrius had an active warrant for hit and run from the Rome City Municipal Court, and was unlicensed.

I placed Kenterrius under arrest for the active warrant, hit and run and driving unlicensed. He was placed in handcuffs to the rear, checked for tightness, double locked, searched, and placed in the rear seat of my patrol car after visual inspection. I transported him to the Floyd County Jail where he was booked for the above charges.
