[NARRATIVE #1 on July 31, 2026]

On July 31st, 2026 at approximately 0038 myself and Pfc. Surrett were dispatched to a shots fired call. While en route to [REDACTED], dispatch advised that they did hear a gunshot in the background. Dispatch also advised that he had pulled out of the driveway and then returned. Dispatch advised that the male subject identified as Michael Sargent Jr. did break into the house and was yelling and screaming. The complainant advised that Michael had gone back outside and has began shooting again.

Upon arriving we observed a subject running up a hill away from the house. Once we arrived we attempted to follow the subject we saw running but were not able to catch the subject.

While walking to the residence I made contact with an involved subject who was identified as [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated that Michael had shown up at the address asking who was the guy she was with. She stated that she told Michael he was gone.

While speaking with the residents of the house Pfc. Sangphim advised he was out with a subject involved. The subject that was detained was identified as [VICTIM #2]. [VICTIM #2] was then transported to [REDACTED].

While interviewing [VICTIM #1] she stated that her and [VICTIM #3] had went to pick up [VICTIM #2] and once they returned they were sitting in the car when Michael pulled into the drive way. [VICTIM #1] stated that when [VICTIM #2] saw Michael he got out of the car and ran. When Michael exited his truck he began yelling, asking who that was. When [VICTIM #1] refused to tell him, [VICTIM #1] and Michael then got into his truck and Michael went around the block to look for him.

I then interviewed [VICTIM #3]. [VICTIM #3] stated that after they had returned from picking up [VICTIM #2], Michael arrived uninvited and began yelling. When Michael began yelling she had gone inside. While inside [VICTIM #3] stated she heard multiple gunshots but could not tell me how many. [VICTIM #3] stated after a couple of shots she could hear [VICTIM #1] and Michael arguing and then could hear some more gunshots. After Michael and [VICTIM #1] returned from looking for [VICTIM #2], [VICTIM #3] locked the padlock on the front door.

After doing so she heard the glass on the door break causing approximately $300.00 in damage and saw Michael entering her house. Upon telling him to get out, he began waving a handgun around yelling “Where is he” and began checking rooms. While Michael was checking the rooms he opened the door to where [VICTIM #4] and [VICTIM #5] were in and began waving the handgun in that room before going to other rooms in the house. [VICTIM #3] stated once Michael knew the cops were on the way he then exited the back door and ran.

When speaking to [VICTIM #6] he stated he did not know what was happening until he heard the gun fire. [VICTIM #6] stated when he heard the gunfire he then left the room to see what was happening. [VICTIM #6] stated that after exiting the room Michael had broken the window on the door and began yelling and waving the handgun around in the living room before going into the bedroom where the kids were and began waving the handgun in that room and exiting out of the back door.

While interviewing [VICTIM #2], he stated Michael arrived at the address after he had already been there for approximately 20-30 minutes. [VICTIM #2] stated when he saw Michaels truck he jumped out of the car and began running. [VICTIM #2] stated when he was far enough away he stopped and called his aunt. [VICTIM #2] stated he had heard anywhere from 6-10 gunshots. [VICTIM #2] stated that when he saw Michaels truck coming down the road he started running again to wards the duck pond and car wash on Park Ave. While he was in that area is when he was located and identified by Pfc. Sangphim.

While searching the area surrounding the house I located one silver 9mm shell casing in the driveway.

[VICTIM #1] had stated that Michael had only fired one round and it was in the grass area to the right side of the building. No shell casings were located in that area. [VICTIM #1] also stated that at one point while her and Michael were arguing he did put the handgun to his head.

A RPD officer did bring his K9 to the address to attempt to track Michael but was not able to locate him.

A warrant has been obtained.

[NARRATIVE #2 on July 31, 2026]

On the above date and time Ofc. Henry and I were dispatched to Terhune Rd. for a subject waving his hands in the air. The complainant stated that the male was wearing shorts and no shirt.

Upon our arrival we made contact with the subject who identified himself as Devin Surat with a date of birth of [REDACTED]. Upon running that name through dispatch we did not get any returns for that name. While speaking with the subject I asked him what he was doing at this location and he stated him and his girlfriend go into an argument and she dropped him off and he was lost. I asked him what his girlfreinds name was and he refused to give it to me.

While speaking with the subject I asked him if he had ever been arrested in Floyd County and he advised that he did. At this time I advised him that if that is true he would come back in our system. Due to this information I placed the subject into handcuffs (check for fit and double locked). While putting on handcuffs Ofc Henry observed and back tattoo on the subject that had a name of [REDACTED]. At this time Ofc. Henry ran that subject and Michael Sargent JR. showed up as well. Due to this information we were able to determine that the subjects name was Michael Sargent JR. which had felony warrants.

Michael was placed into the back of my patrol vehicle and escorted to the Floyd county jail.

[NARRATIVE #3 on July 31, 2026]

On Friday 07/31/26 I, Officer Foster, was dispatched to [REDACTED] in regards to damage done to a vehicle.

Upon arrival, I spoke to [VICTIM #6] who stated there was a bullet hole underneath the passenger side door handle of his 2023 Kia Sportage causing the door to be unable to open. [VICTIM #6] also pointed to his front windshield and I observed a small crack on the passenger side of the windshield that appeared to be consistent with impact from a bullet. [VICTIM #6] stated that the night before the suspect, Michael Sargent Jr, had shown up to the residence unannounced with a gun.

[VICTIM #6] stated he was inside the residence when he heard gun shots coming from outside, but did not think anything of it due to the area he lived in. [VICTIM #6] stated [VICTIM #3] came running inside while stating Michael was there with a gun and began gathering her children to hide because Michael was still shooting.

[VICTIM #3] stated Michael pulled into the driveway and parked beside [VICTIM #6]’s Kia then pulled a gun out and started shooting. I asked [VICTIM #6] how much the damage would cost and he estimated around $10,000 due to electrical work that would need to be done, as well as replacing the windshield.
