On September 15, 2026 at approximately 1730 hours, I (Officer Chorjel) was dispatched to 1417 N. Broad St NE (Family Dollar Tree) to meet with [VICTIM #1] in regards to a domestic altercation between he and his Wife (Nora Ventura) from the previous night (09/14/2026) between the hours of eight and nine o’clock in the evening.

[VICTIM #1] states that he and Nora had been fighting after he requested a divorce. [VICTIM #1] says that during the argument, Nora demanded to look at his cell phone to which he declined. [VICTIM #1] states that Nora then attempted to grab his phone while he was sitting on the couch at which point he stood up and started to back away from her. [VICTIM #1] says that as he was walking backward through the kitchen with Nora following him, Nora picked up a large kitchen knife from the counter and began to chase him with it.

[VICTIM #1] says that as he turned to run, he heard a “clanging” noise near him where the knife had been thrown. [VICTIM #1] says that after the knife was thrown, Nora then went up the stairs to grab their laptop where she then followed him outside onto their driveway and threw the laptop on the ground twice, completely destroying it. [VICTIM #1] then states that Nora then threatened to kill him and that she said she would “go to jail with a smile on her face.” [VICTIM #1] then informed me that he had recorded the incident on his phone and offered to show me.

Upon reviewing the videos, Nora can be seen yelling at [VICTIM #1] before attempting to grab his phone. Nora can then be seen grabbing an object that appears to be a knife while walking toward [VICTIM #1], and raise it over her head before she starts to run at him with it. It was not seen on video that she threw the knife due to [VICTIM #1] running away from her. Nora can then be seen retrieving a laptop and walking outside where she throws it on the ground two times. On a second video shown by [VICTIM #1], Nora can be seen sitting on the front steps of their residence where she can be seen and heard telling [VICTIM #1] that she would kill him and go to jail with a smile on her face.

[VICTIM #1] informed me that Nora would still be at their residence as she does not drive and that their Son, [WITNESS #1] was headed to the residence as well. I informed [VICTIM #1] that I would drive to their residence in an attempt to make contact with Nora. I advised [VICTIM #1] of his victim rights and provided him the a victim’s bill of rights brochure. I also advised him that if Nora was to be arrested, I could fill out a victim notification form at the jail and explained to him what that would provide. [VICTIM #1] informed me that he would like a victim notification form filled out if Nora was to be arrested.

I then made contact with [WITNESS #1] at their residence ([300 BLOCK] Ross St NE, Rome, GA 30161) where he informed me that his Mother (Nora) had stepped outside to “cool off” but then he could not locate her. [WITNESS #1] states that he was not present at the time of this altercation but was made aware of it by his Father ([VICTIM #1]). While speaking with [WITNESS #1], he received a phone call from Nora and informed me that she had walked to a friend’s house around that corner. [WITNESS #1] then told me that he would walk down the street to meet with Nora who was now on her way back to her residence.

I then followed [WITNESS #1] in my patrol vehicle and stopped at [300 BLOCK] Ross St NE upon seeing Nora walking. Nora informed me that she and [VICTIM #1] were fighting last night about getting a divorce. I informed Nora that I had seen some videos in regards to their fight last night and asked her what she had grabbed from the kitchen counter. Nora stated that she did grab a knife and throw it at [VICTIM #1] but did not want to hurt him. Nora did deny telling [VICTIM #1] that she would kill him.

Nora was then place under arrest with handcuffs to the rear, checked for tightness, and double locked. Nora was searched incident to arrest and placed in the rear passenger seat of my patrol vehicle before being transported to the Floyd County Jail where she was booked on her charges without incident.

After leaving the jail, I informed [VICTIM #1] via phone call that Nora had been arrested and that I would send a community request to upload the videos to evidence.com. [VICTIM #1] asked me if he was required to upload the videos as he was unsure if he wanted to.

I informed [VICTIM #1] that he was not required to, but that I would still send him the community request link in the event he decided to upload the videos. I also informed [VICTIM #1] that a victim notification form was filled out as we had previously discussed and left at the jail.
