On 6/22/2026, I (PFC Ballard) while on duty for the City of Rome Police Department, in uniform, in a marked patrol vehicle, responded to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] at approximately 1816 hours in reference to an altercation.
Prior to officers arrival in the area 911 gave a description of a white male approximately 5’9″ tall, weighing 150 pounds with black hair. The complainant, later identified as [VICTIM #1], the male had a red shirt on it with the #22 on it. Mr [VICTIM #1] stated the male walked north on Maple Ave near the area of Willingham St. 911 advised responding the subject, later identified as Randy Siniard, asked Mr [VICTIM #1] for peaches off his tree and wasn’t happy they weren’t ripe enough. 911 advised Mr Siniard lunged at Mr [VICTIM #1] and cussed him out.
Pfc Young arrived in the area and located the male later identified as Randy Siniard on Maple Ave across from Worsham St. Pfc Young had 911 run Mr Siniard through NCIC/GCIC and he came back with a suspended license and no warrants.
I responded to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and spoke with the complainant, Mr [VICTIM #1] who stated he was propping up his peach tree in the front yard due to the storms that were supposed to come through later in the evening. Mr [VICTIM #1] stated Mr Siniard asked him if he could have some peaches and Mr [VICTIM #1] gave Mr Siniard two. After a few minutes later Mr [VICTIM #1] stated he was working on one of his vehicle cutting a gasket for it with a razor blade.
Mr [VICTIM #1] stated Mr Siniard came back and threw a peach back at him saying they weren’t ripe enough and lunged at him and said I will kick you in the f*cking balls you child molester. Mr [VICTIM #1] did admit to me he told Mr Siniard after he lunged at him don’t make me use this knife to protect myself.
I responded to Pfc Young’s location and spoke with Mr Siniard who denied to any wrong doing and that Mr [VICTIM #1] pulled a knife on him. I placed Mr Siniard under arrest and completed a search incident to arrest. I placed Mr Siniard in the rear of my patrol vehicle and transported him to the Floyd County Jail for booking where he was booked in for simple assault and disorderly conduct.
