On June 15, 2026, I, PFC Roden, was dispatched to [REDACTED BY AGENCY], in reference to an active dispute occurring at the residence.
Upon arrival, I was met at the door by Mr. [VICTIM #1]. Mr. [VICTIM #1] is an elderly disabled male who is confined to a wheelchair. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated that a female identified as Tamara Glanton regularly comes to his residence to assist with cleaning due to his disability.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] advised that when Ms. Glanton arrived, he asked her to clean out and wipe down the refrigerator before returning the items inside. He stated that Ms. Glanton became argumentative and told him that the task was too much work and that she was not going to do it. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated that he then advised Ms. Glanton that if she was not going to perform the work, he would not pay her. According to Mr. [VICTIM #1], Ms. Glanton became upset, threw items onto the floor, walked across the kitchen, grabbed a bottle containing his prescribed Pregabalin medication, and exited the residence.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated that Ms. Glanton entered a white passenger vehicle driven by her boyfriend, [WITNESS #1]. I located the vehicle through LEDS and identified it as a white Toyota Corolla bearing Alabama license plate [REDACTED]. I also located the vehicle on Flock Safety cameras traveling through the Garden Lakes area shortly after the call was received by E-911.
While on scene, I spoke with Mr. [WITNESS #2], an upstairs neighbor. Mr. [WITNESS #2] stated that he observed Ms. Glanton run from the apartment holding a pill bottle in her left hand. He advised that he overheard an argument regarding the medication and stated that when Mr. [VICTIM #1] mentioned calling law enforcement, Ms. Glanton entered the vehicle and Mr. [WITNESS #1] drove away.
Officer Valentine subsequently located the vehicle near the entrance of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and conducted a traffic stop. The occupants were identified as [WITNESS #1] and Tamara Glanton.
Upon my arrival, I had Mr. [WITNESS #1] step to the rear of the vehicle for questioning. Mr. [WITNESS #1] was advised of his Miranda rights, which he stated he understood. Mr. [WITNESS #1] stated that he had driven Ms. Glanton to Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s residence so she could perform cleaning services. He advised that she typically cleans for Mr. [VICTIM #1] for approximately 20 minutes once per week. Mr. [WITNESS #1] stated that he never observed a pill bottle during the incident and was unaware of any medication being taken.
I then spoke with Ms. Glanton and advised her of her Miranda rights, which she stated she understood. Ms. Glanton advised that she had gone to Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s residence to clean as she normally does. She alleged that Mr. [VICTIM #1] wanted to engage in sexual activity before she cleaned and that she did not wish to do so. Ms. Glanton further alleged that Mr. [VICTIM #1] grabbed her buttocks, causing her to become upset and leave the residence. Ms. Glanton denied taking or possessing any pill bottle and denied touching Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s medication.
Mr. [WITNESS #1] consented to a search of the vehicle. A search was conducted, and no medication or other evidence related to the reported theft was located.
Based on the statements provided by Mr. [VICTIM #1] and the independent witness statement from Mr. [WITNESS #2], who reported observing Ms. Glanton leave the residence with a pill bottle in her hand, probable cause existed to believe that Ms. Glanton had taken Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s medication. Additionally, sufficient time had elapsed between the alleged theft and the traffic stop for the medication to have been discarded.
Ms. Glanton was placed under arrest, secured in handcuffs, and transported to the Floyd County Jail without incident. Ms. Glanton was charged with Theft by Taking for the prescribed medication, valued at approximately $300.00, and Exploitation of a Disabled Adult for causing physical and mental anguish to Mr. [VICTIM #1] through the deprivation of his prescribed medication.
