On September 25, 2026, I responded to the listed location in reference to a meet in person. Upon arrival, I spoke with the victim, [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] began telling me about an incident that occurred on September 23, 2026. [VICTIM #1] stated that she was taking a shower when she heard someone ringing the doorbell nonstop followed by knocking on the door. [VICTIM #1] stated that it was her husband, William Self. [VICTIM #1] stated they had an appointment for marriage counseling on that date, but that she was not going to go due to William not following the advice of the counselor.
[VICTIM #1] also advised they were separated and attempting to work things out, but that William had left the house a few days prior taking the boat and leaving his dog. However, [VICTIM #1] still let William inside. Once inside, William and [VICTIM #1] began to argue. It also sounded as if someone was slapping skin or clapping, but it is too indistinguishable to tell. William is then heard yelling, “where’s it at? Where’s the ring at? Put it back on!” This is followed by [VICTIM #1] telling William he needs to leave.
However, William continues to yell and argue with [VICTIM #1]. William asks [VICTIM #1] who she is getting ready for and she replies that she has things she has to go do. William continues asking where “it” is at and this is followed by more arguing. In the audio, you can hear [VICTIM #1] state that William left and lied about something.
William counters stating that “she” is lying. This is followed by what sounds like William hitting himself, but it is not clear. [VICTIM #1] is then screaming at William to stop during that time and that William is cutting himself. During this time, William is clearly yelling while [VICTIM #1] is trying to talk normally, while sometime raising her voice to speak over William.
[VICTIM #1] does tell William “no” to putting the ring on and that she wants him to leave. William is then heard saying, “call the police and tell them there is going to be a suicide.” [VICTIM #1] tells William to stop, but it sounds as if William is still angry and upset. At one point, William is heard saying, “I’m going to snap.” [VICTIM #1] tells him that he is snapping and that she wants him to leave. The two continue to argue about what “she” said and that “she” said it, but that it was not [VICTIM #1].
William continues with that he thought [VICTIM #1] was going to welcome him back, but she took the ring off. [VICTIM #1] then states, “You think it’s okay to just jerk me around?” [VICTIM #1] then makes a comment about how William is pacing around as if he is about to “hit.” William states that he would never hit her, but [VICTIM #1] states that he has hit her before. William asks [VICTIM #1] if she is recording him right now and she offers to go elsewhere to talk, but that she has asked him to leave as she is getting ready.
William again asks who [VICTIM #1] is getting ready for to which [VICTIM #1] replies, “Me.” William then continues and begins asking, “What are you wearing for him?” several times while [VICTIM #1] is in the background telling William to stop. William continues and states, “Is that for f*cking [REDACTED]? Is that for f*cking [REDACTED]? You going to show him your p*ssy?” This is followed by William asking that a few more times, then asking where [REDACTED] is. [VICTIM #1] is heard saying to get out and that he is hurting her. The arguing continues more about the ring and why [VICTIM #1] is getting ready. During that time, [VICTIM #1] is telling William to get out several times and that he is going crazy.
[VICTIM #1] is heard stating, “You ripped my pants and everything.” William is heard stating, “You getting sexy for him? Taking a shower for him? Did you shave your f*cking p*ssy, too?” This is followed by [VICTIM #1] screaming “stop” fairly loud while William is stating “did you?” Right after, [VICTIM #1] is heard calling William disgusting while he is stating “you did” several times. William is heard saying, “You shaved your f*cking p*ssy. I felt it. I just felt it.” [VICTIM #1] told William that was crazy and again told him to get out.
At that point, I stopped listening to the audio as it was 20 plus minutes long. I did ask [VICTIM #1] why she waited to call and she advised it was because William threatened to kill himself if she called the police. I advised [VICTIM #1] to call 911 in the future so we can help sooner and to call us if he shows back up. I did have her send me a copy of the recording, and attached it to this report.
After leaving the residence, I secured a warrant for William for sexual battery after hearing him say the above about “feeling” [VICTIM #1]’s intimate parts. Once the warrant was signed by Judge Richardson, I began to look for William. I was provided a photo of the truck and license plate by [VICTIM #1] via email. I entered into the Piggly Wiggly parking lot in Lindale and did observe a truck that matched the truck in the photo. The license plate was the same, so I called Sergeant Forrister and advised him that I was about to stop the vehicle as I observed him leaving.
I did advised Sergeant Forrister of my location. However, William turned around and parked in a different parking spot upon seeing me. Due to this and thinking William might attempt to run, I did conduct the traffic stop in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot. I approached the door and made contact with William. I advised him to exit the vehicle to which he did. I then grabbed William by his right wrist and advised him to turn around and put his hands behind his back. William tensed up, but I was able to talk him down and was able to place him in handcuffs.
The handcuffs were checked for fit and double locked per policy. I advised William of the warrant and he initially stated that he did stick his hands down the pants, but later refuted that he did. William did advise to leave the car keys in the gas tank and that he would have a friend, [REDACTED], come get the vehicle. I did call [REDACTED] from William’s phone at his request to alert him of this.
William was then transported to the county jail where he was booked on the warrant.
