On the above date, time, and location, I Deputy Shanton was dispatched to a suicide threat.

Upon arrival I was met by [VICTIM #1] and her friend [WITNESS #1] at the top of the driveway. [VICTIM #1] stated that her husband Steven Greenberg was threatening to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and was carrying a [REDACTED BY AGENCY] inside the house. [WITNESS #1] showed me a video of Steven standing on the back balcony completely naked threatening to [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. While talking with [VICTIM #1] she told me that Steven had threatened to kill her if she called the police to stop him, [WITNESS #1] said she witnessed Steven saying he was going to kill [VICTIM #1] as well.

Deputy Whitfield, Deputy Click, and Lt. Thompson made contact with Steven at the front door to try to de-escalate the situation and try to help Steven put the [REDACTED BY AGENCY] down and come out without any issues. [VICTIM #1] then received a phone call from Steven, and he said, “should I go ahead and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] now, just let me know when its time, let me know when it’s time.” After the phone call [VICTIM #1] stated that she was scared that Steven was going to kill and dismember her now that the cops are here.

While de-escalation attempts continued, I applied for and was granted a warrant for Terroristic Threats.

Steven continued to not cooperate with commands and continued to hold a [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to his [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and communicate that he was going to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and that he knew exactly where to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] for it to work.

After a two-hour standoff we were able to take Steven into custody after being [REDACTED BY AGENCY] without injury. EMS then checked Steven’s [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and said he was clear to be transported. I received a signed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] form for Steven and went inside and replaced the current handcuffs with mine. I checked for tightness and double locked. Steven was placed in the back of my patrol vehicle and secured by the seatbelt.

I transported Steven to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] where hospital staff checked Steven in for his [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and he was placed in a room. I removed my handcuffs from Steven and left him in the care of the hospital and security staff.

A front and back picture of the [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was uploaded to Axon Evidence.
