The following was taken from a press release distributed by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety on May 8, 2024:
FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – Last week, we were proud to award a department commendation to several of our officers for their coordination and outstanding work in helping prevent a felony theft from a business on Westside Way!
On 04/12/2024 around 10:45pm, C squad received a call about a burglary alarm at a commercial building on Westside Way. Sergeant Nelson, K-9 Officer Ritchey, and Officer Butler responded to the scene and were joined by Officer Hunt who heard the call go out as he was working nearby.
While checking the building, officers found an open door and once inside, found an individual claiming to be part of the cleaning staff exiting one of the suites. After investigating, it was found that the individual had forced their way into the building and had been rifling through one of the cabinets in the suite.
The individual was then taken into custody and charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Loitering & Prowling, & Possession of Tools for the Commission of a Crime.
THANK YOU to these officers for their professionalism, dedication and for going the extra mile to improve the quality of life for all who live, work, and play in Alpharetta – we’re incredibly proud of you!
