[NARRATIVE #1 on January 06, 2025]

On Monday, 01/06/2025, at approximately 16:53 pm, I, DFC S. Weaver 528, was dispatched to the Department of Family and Child Services (DFCS) to meet with 2 DFCS case workers, [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2], in regards to go with them to [200 BLOCK] Little Rock Creek Rd, to speak to a female about a Domestic Violence Incident that took place on 01/04/2025.

I responded code 1, no lights and sirens. Upon arrival to DFCS I activated my body camera and met with [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2]. [WITNESS #1] advised me that there was a domestic violence incident the other night, 1/04/2025, and the daughters of the victim told their school on 1/06/2025, and the school contacted DFCS. [WITNESS #1] said she went and talked to the girls and they told her that their moms boyfriend held a knife to their moms throat and said that he was going to kill her.

I followed [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2] to [200 BLOCK] Little Rock Creek Rd. Upon arrival I activated my body camera. I noticed a White Truck in the driveway, and we believed someone to be home. [WITNESS #1] said that the truck belonged to the boyfriend, the offender, identified as Dakota LeDoux. I went to the front door and observed a Ring Camera doorbell that was barely attached to the house. I rang the doorbell and knocked on the door, there was no answer, but a female, later identified as the victim, [VICTIM #1], came over the Ring Camera and asked why we were there and told us she was on her way home from picking up her daughters at after school care. [VICTIM #1] told us she would be home shortly, and I told her we would be waiting. While we were waiting I ran the tag on the truck through dispatch and it came back to Dakota.

Within about 20 minutes [VICTIM #1] returned home with her 3 daughters. [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2] wanted to talk to [VICTIM #1] alone, since [WITNESS #1] had already talked to [VICTIM #1]’s oldest daughters, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], (6 years old) and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (5 years old). [REDACTED BY AGENCY] started crying and not letting go of [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] said that her ex-husband had called DFCS on her before and they threatened to take the girls, and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was scared that was going to happen again. I was finally able to get the 3 girls, now including [VICTIM #1]’s youngest, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (1 year old), to stay with me in their room while [VICTIM #1] talked to [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2]. While in the room with the girls, [VICTIM #2] showed me a piece of the bedroom door that had become detached and she said Dakota did that.

When [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2] were done talking to [VICTIM #1], and about to leave, I overheard [WITNESS #1] ask [VICTIM #1] how Dakota would react to not being able to be at the house with them, and [VICTIM #1] said that he would be upset for his past being used against him.

[NARRATIVE #2 on January 07, 2025]

On 01/07/2025, at approximately 15:30 pm, I was told by Sgt Pim 553 that I needed to go to DFCS because [VICTIM #1] was ready to talk to law enforcement about the domestic violence incident. Upon arrival to DFCS I activated my body camera and met with [VICTIM #1] and [WITNESS #1]. I asked [VICTIM #1] to tell me what happened. [VICTIM #1] first stated that what had happened today put things in perspective and she had a better understanding as to why Dakota was acting the way he did. [VICTIM #1] then stated that Probation had showed up at her house this day, to drug test Dakota who is currently on Felony Probation. [VICTIM #1] said that Dakota failed his drug test with a positive for Methamphetamines, Fentanyl, and prescription drugs. [VICTIM #1] also stated that right before Probation showed up at the house Dakota had strangled her again and said he was going to kill her. [VICTIM #1] said that it was just her and Dakota at home, because she had already brought all the kids to school.

[VICTIM #1] said that Dakota had been at the house this morning to get his truck and bring it to his mother’s house at [100 BLOCK] Dover Chapel Terrace. [VICTIM #1] stated that she picked Dakota up at his mother’s house so he could get his truck. [VICTIM #1] said that when Dakota was there has was accusing her of cheating on him and tried to get her phone from her, which she wouldn’t give him. According to [VICTIM #1] that when she wouldn’t give Dakota her phone he proceeded to choke her and slap her. [VICTIM #1] said she managed to get away and ran outside to leave, right as Probation pulled into the drive way. [VICTIM #1] remembered that she had a mark on her neck from this day, and showed me that red mark on the left side of her neck from when Dakota tried to strangle her. [VICTIM #1] went on to tell me about 01/04/2025, the incident that took place for [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to go to their school officials and report it. [VICTIM #1] said that there has been multiple times that Dakota has accused her about cheating on him, even an incident with Dakota breaking her cellphone, but it was never reported. [VICTIM #1] said that her, Dakota, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], [REDACTED BY AGENCY], and [REDACTED BY AGENCY], were in his truck heading home. [VICTIM #1] said when they pulled into the driveway at [200 BLOCK] Little Rock Creek Rd, Dakota asked her to turn the light off in the truck, and then started yelling at her because she wasn’t turning the light off, instead she was grabbing her belongings. [VICTIM #1] said that she had been sitting in the front passenger seat with her feet up on the dash, and after her not turning the truck light off, Dakota turned and slapped her across the left side of the face and then grabbed her throat trying to choke her, she said that she started kicking to get away and for him to stop, that she broke the windshield from kicking.

When Dakota saw what had happened to the windshield, he got out of the truck and went to the front passenger seat and grabbed her hair and pulled her out of the truck and slapped her again, all while the 3 girls were in the back seat of the truck. [VICTIM #1] said she grabbed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] out of the truck and they all went up the stairs into the house. [VICTIM #1] said that once inside she tried to lock herself and the girls in their bedroom, but he broke the door to come in. [VICTIM #1] said that she and the girls were sitting on the floor together when Dakota grabbed her by the hair again and dragged her out of the room into the kitchen where he “pinned” her up against the sink, while she was holding [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and held a knife to her throat. [VICTIM #1] said that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were holding onto her, and Dakota said he would kill her in front of her kids. [VICTIM #1] said that he then stopped and left the house, and she went and stayed at a friend’s house. [VICTIM #1] showed me a video of Dakota talking to his mom on the phone right after he held the knife up to her. You can hear him talking, but it wasn’t clear and then you see Dakota reach over his shoulder and bent.

While I was at DFCS getting [VICTIM #1]’s I was speaking to Detective Sippel 593, and she told me that she was currently meeting with Probation in regards to potential charges for Dakota. I told her that I would keep her in the loop. [REDACTED], from Probation, met with me at DFCS. [REDACTED] explained that Dakota was on probation out of Cherokee and Cobb County, and he was waiting for a warrant from them for him failing his drug test that morning.

After with what [VICTIM #1] had shared with me, I charged Dakota with 2 counts of O.C.G.A 16-5-21 Aggravated Assault, 2 charges of O.C.G.A. 16-5-23.1 Battery, 3 charges of O.C.G.A. 16-5-70 Cruelty to Children in the Third Degree, and 1 count of O.C.G.A. 16-7-23 Criminal Damage to Property in the Second Degree; all under the Family Violence Act.

I gave [VICTIM #1] a victim pamphlet with her case number.

[NARRATIVE #3 on January 07, 2025]

On January 7, 2025 at approximately 5:30 P.M. I, Deputy J.Carver #529, Sgt. Perigo #517, Deputy Ryan Scott #532, and Deputy Knight #543 went to [100 BLOCK] Dover Chapel Terrance in an attempt to locate Dakota for Deputy S.Weave for warrants she had sworn out for his arrest.

We located Dakota inside the residence and had him step outside. We verified the outstanding warrants for his arrest again and once verified I placed him in handcuffs, checked them for proper fit, and double locked them. I then placed Dakota in the back of patrol unit 424 and transported him to the Gilmer County Adult Detention Center where he was turned over to the detention staff without any issues.
