On 07-2-2026 at approximately 0936 hrs., I, DFC Harter-Ray #526 was dispatched to animal cruelty and was advised to contact Officer R. Graham #107 in reference to the incident. I contacted Officer Graham via cell phone. Officer Graham advised me there was an animal cruelty incident that occurred on May 23rd, 2026. He stated that the complainant was making the report now due to having lived with the suspect and recently moved out. He stated that she was out of town and her roommate, Stone Burton, had injured her pet Kitten, Emmy, by slamming it into the ground. He showed me video of the footage.

I viewed the video and observed a male rush behind a television desk. The male pulled a kitten from behind the stand and raised the animal above his head and slammed it on to the hard wood flooring. I could hear the animal cry out followed by an audible thudding sound from hitting the ground. He then turns and grabs another kitten and pulls it out quickly raising it up but drops it. The video ends with him picking up the first kitten.

I received the original complainant’s [WITNESS #1] contact information from Officer Graham. I contacted the complainant via cell phone and asked her for her statement. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated that on the day of the incident, she had been in Woodstock, Ga with a friend and received a phone call from her Roommate, Stone Burton. She stated that Stone had said that he was pulling the cat out from behind the television and that he had pulled too hard and might have accidentally broke its neck. She had told him to take it to the emergency vet.

She stated that he had taken the kitten to Mountain Emergency Animal Center in Blue Ridge, Ga. She stated that she had met them there and the doctor had advised her that the Kitten, Emmy, would either die or have permanent brain damage if recovered. She stated that when they took Emmy home, it had laid around the house for approximately 2 days hardly eating or drinking.

She stated that the property owner that lives there had provided her the camera footage of the incident from a camera in the living room where the incident occurred. Ms. [WITNESS #1] confirmed that the male from the video was Stone Baxter Burton. I contacted the Emergency Vet to get results of Emmy’s visit to their facility. I spoke with [REDACTED] at the front desk. I identified myself to [REDACTED] and requested the veterinary chart of the Emmy the kitten. She stated that he could E-mail a copy of the chart but advised me that the animal was not determined to be healthy but was extremely shaken up and disoriented.

Stone Braxton Burton violated O.C.G.A 16-12-4(b), Cruelty to Animals, when he willingly and knowingly caused the unjustifiable physical pain of gray in color Tabby Kitten named Emmy, an animal, by picking it up above his head and slamming it into the ground. Warrant 26-440MW issued for Stone Burton’s arrest for the violation.
