On September 6, 2025, I was dispatched to Friendly Express gas station, located at 7208 New Jesup HWY, in reference to a shoplifting. I was further informed that the alleged suspect was in the restroom for a little over 20 minutes.

Upon my arrival, I met with [WITNESS #1] who informed me she was the Manager for the store. She stated that a white female walked to the rotating display stand that contained sunglasses and cellphone charge cords. She further stated that the female possibly took a charge cord into the bathroom, and she had been in there for over 20 minutes.

I reviewed security camera footage, and I observed a white female bend down and out of the view of cameras then the display started rotating. After a few moments, the white female stood up (emerging back into the view of the camera) and hastily walked into the restroom after ripping off a cardboard piece attached to the charge cord.

I approached the restroom door and knocked on it, then I identified myself as a Police Officer. I then requested for the female to exit the restroom in an calm and orderly fashion, which she did after she requested that I open the door. I later discovered the female to be Amanda Boynton (Amanda).

I observed Amanda to be finishing up cleaning the restroom because it appeared she was applying makeup, and she even told me that she was attaching eye lash extensions to herself. When Amanda exited the restroom, I informed her for the reason that I there. She told me that she did not think there was a time limit on using the restroom.

Amanda was also carrying a large size backpack that was completely stuffed, which later I learned was her personal belongings. Amanda denied stealing anything from the display, and she showed me a charge cord that she had and that the color did not match the ones on the display.

It was very apparent that Amanda was very upset about this Manager’s accusation due to the fact that she was making furtive movements into her backpack to retrieve her cellphone charger, her quick haste walking to the display and returning to me, and how she was talking fast.

I then spoke to [WITNESS #2] who was a Store Clerk, and she originally observed the suspiciousness of Amanda hiding behind a row of store items and the display then rotating. [WITNESS #2] then agreed that Amanda can be Criminally Trespassed from the store if she just left and do not return.

I then returned to Amanda and informed her that she was criminally trespassed, and that she would be arrested if she returned. At that time, Amanda became very upset by looking at the [WITNESS #2] and [WITNESS #1] and telling them that she could not believe that they would call the police on her.

Prior to Amanda departing the store, [WITNESS #2] departed the store to stand on the sidewalk in front of the Friendly Express. [WITNESS #2] was standing near a trash can to the right of the front door. I followed Amanda to the front door, and as I stayed inside the store, Amanda departed.

I then observed Amanda quickly throw her large size fountain drink into the trash can where [WITNESS #2] was standing. [WITNESS #2] then walked towards the front door of the store with a shocked look on her face, and both of her arms stiffened in front of her. I asked [WITNESS #2] if Amanda threw the fountain drink on her, and she confirmed it. [WITNESS #2] then stated she wanted to press charges against Amanda.

I stopped Amanda, who was standing in the middle of the parking lot, and I placed her in custody for disorderly conduct. Amanda was then passive aggressive as I escorted her back to the store where I then was able to handcuff her behind her back, and they were also checked for proper fitting. I then sat Amanda in the back seat of my patrol car.

Amanda’s sister then arrived and started telling Amanda something along the lines that Amanda had this coming. I then reviewed security camera, and it confirmed what I observed through the front door as Amanda threw away her fountain drink. I returned and Amanda’s sister was apologetic, and she informed me that her father was currently dying and she couldn’t believe that Amanda would put her family through this ordeal at this time.

Upon request of Amanda, Amanda’s sister took possession of her large size backpack. I then transported Amanda to the CDC to be released into their custody for disorderly conduct. Arrest warrants for Amanda will be drafted, signed, and served on a later date and time.
