On the above date, I responded to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in reference to a domestic. The cad notes stated that the male left the scene on foot, so I responded to the address to speak with the complainant, [VICTIM #1].

I began to speak with [VICTIM #1] about what occurred and why she called the police. [VICTIM #1] stated that she and her boyfriend, Anthony Taylor, have been fighting and arguing for the last six months. I asked [VICTIM #1] how they have been together and she stated for a year and a half, and I asked how long have they lived together and she said the whole they have been dating. [VICTIM #1] mentioned she has a child but Anthony isn’t the biological father but he treats her like he is.

I asked [VICTIM #1] to continue on to what happened. [VICTIM #1] stated that she got home at around ten this morning and said that Anthony has been asleep in the house for the entire morning, [VICTIM #1] stated that Anthony finally woke up at around three this afternoon and wanted to use her car to go to the store. [VICTIM #1] stated that the car belongs to her and that he wasn’t allowed to use it at that particular time.

[VICTIM #1] stated that Anthony began to upset with her and began to yell and scream at her outside in the carport area. [VICTIM #1] stated that at that time, her daughter was outside with them during this whole incident. [VICTIM #1] stated that Anthony picked up a cordless drill and threatened to put holes in the hood of her car if she didn’t give up the keys. [VICTIM #1] stated that he threw the drill at the hood of the vehicle but couldn’t determine at the time where the damage was at.

[VICTIM #1] stated that after that, Anthony began to put his hands on her and placed his hands around her throat and pushed her backwards towards the front door of the home while still holding her by her throat. [VICTIM #1] stated that when they got to the door, she didn’t remember how she got loose due to her adrenaline but heard her daughter scream and she went to make sure she was okay.

[VICTIM #1] stated that she was physically drug towards the door by her throat unwilfully. [VICTIM #1] stated that Anthony beats on her all the time and was showing me bruises on her arms, and legs. The bruises did not look fresh at the time of this incident and [VICTIM #1] didn’t have any marks around her throat.

After speaking with [VICTIM #1], Officer C. Talbert was on the way to assist and stated that the offender was walking back towards to the residence. I walked towards the end of the driveway and stopped Anthony so I could speak with him out of sight of [VICTIM #1] and her daughter. I asked Anthony to explain what occurred today.

Anthony stated that they have been fighting and arguing lately and when he woke up, he wanted to go to the store. Anthony stated that he wanted to use her car and asked her for the keys and she denied them. Anthony stated that he got upset and after dealing with these issues lately, he just got tired of it. Anthony stated that he picked up a cordless drill and threw it at the hood of the vehicle that belongs to [VICTIM #1].

Anthony stated that after that, he placed his hands around her throat and was pushing her towards the door so she can give him the keys from inside the home. After Anthony admitted to placing his hands around the throat of [VICTIM #1] and with doing so in front of [VICTIM #1]’s daughter who is three years old. I placed Anthony in handcuffs, checked for tightness and double locked them. Anthony was under detainment at the time and placed in the rear of my patrol vehicle so I could speak with [VICTIM #1] again to confirm what Anthony said was in fact what happened.

I spoke with [VICTIM #1] and explained to her what Anthony said and she said that is what happened. After the investigation, I determined that Anthony unlawfully placed his hands around [VICTIM #1]’s throat, forcing her to go inside against her will and in front of her daughter. I went to explain to Anthony that he was now under arrest for the following offenses: Kidnapping (FVA), Aggravated Assault – Strangulation (FVA), and Cruelty to Children 3rd Degree.

Anthony understood at the time of the arrest of why he was being charged with these offenses, Anthony was then transported to CDC where he was released to jail staff for booking. My body and rear camera were active and uploaded into evidence.com. No pictures were taken due to not having any marks around her throat. [VICTIM #1] was given a victims Bill of Rights which contain numbers for multiple resources and was informed if she has any questions, to call and give them the case number associated with the case.
