[NARRATIVE #1 on February 21, 2026]
On 02/21/2026 at approximately 2355 hours, I responded to 3021 Altama Ave (Lucky 7) in reference to an assault.
I made contact with [WITNESS #1], a witness, who advised that she and 16- year-old [VICTIM #1] were at the Lucky 7 store when [WITNESS #2] and Daequan Lawrence, the offender, drove up in a black vehicle. She advised that Mr. [WITNESS #2] got into a verbal altercation about her child.
During the verbal altercation, Mr. [WITNESS #2]’s brother, Daequan, became upset about how Ms. [VICTIM #1] was talking to him. She advised that Mr. [WITNESS #2] walked up to Ms. [VICTIM #1] and slapped her in the face. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated that Ms. [VICTIM #1] then got her pepper spray and sprayed Daequan in the face to get him away.
I spoke to Mr. [WITNESS #2], who advised that he came to Lucky 7 with his brother, Daequan, and got into a dispute with Ms. [VICTIM #1] over how she should be caring for her child. He advised that he did not see his brother put his hands on Ms. [VICTIM #1] and that she had pepper-sprayed him instead after the argument.
I spoke to [WITNESS #3], the complainant/store owner, who advised that he saw Mr. [WITNESS #2] and Mr. Lawrence drive up in the black vehicle and get into a verbal altercation with Ms. [VICTIM #1]. He then walked up to her at her vehicle and pulled his hand back, and slapped her with an open palm on her face. She then, in return, took out pepper spray and sprayed him in the face. Mr. [WITNESS #3] advised that he had security camera footage of the incident.
I observed on video that Ms. [VICTIM #1] was standing toward the passenger side of a white vehicle with the passenger-side door open. Mr. Lawrence walks towards the white vehicle, walking around the front of the car towards Ms. [VICTIM #1]. Ms. [VICTIM #1] then starts walking backward towards the back of the car as Mr. Lawrence steadily approaches her. The two then go out of the camera frame, and moments later, Ms. [VICTIM #1] and Mr. Lawrence returns into frame and spray Mr. Lawrence with pepper spray. Mr. Lawrence then lunges back towards Ms. [VICTIM #1].
Ms. [VICTIM #1] denied medical attention, and I provided her with a case number, and all body camera footage was uploaded to evidence.com
Warrants are pending for Mr. Lawrence.

[NARRATIVE #2 on July 06, 2026]
On July 6th, 2026 I arrived to [REDACTED] in reference to juveniles passing around drugs.
Upon arriving I and along with other officers smelled the odor of marijuana. We observed five black males sitting in chair in a semi circle ages ranging from 18-23. When asked where it was Daequan and another male pulled out a zip lock bags with marijuana inside, Officers instructed him to field destroy it, which he did. A couple of used marijuana blunts “roaches” was also field destroyed.
Since marijuana was found and observed that gave officers Probable cause to identify the individuals. I ran all five individuals, and Daequan came back wanted out of Brunswick Police Department (BPD) for Cruelty to children and Simple battery. After a conformation through GCIC (Georgia Crime Information Center) Daequan was placed under arrest and a search incident was completed to the arrested. Handcuffs was check for proper fit, and double-locked and placed in the back of patrol vehicle 22-1 secured with a seatbelt.
Daequan was then transported to 206 Mansfield Street (BPD) for the warrant pickup, and then transported to Glynn County Detention Center (CDC). ABIS and SOVI was completed. I served Daequan warrant number 260223409 & 026223410. Daequan was released to the custody of the jail staff without further incident.
