[NARRATIVE #1 on June 29, 2026]

On the above date at approximately 2251 hours, I, Officer Wilcox, responded to a progressing domestic violence incident at [1100 BLOCK] Marshview Circle Drive.

Upon arriving, I began speaking with the victim, [VICTIM #1], and immediately noticed visible bruising on her neck and chest, as well as an open cut on her elbow. I asked [VICTIM #1] if she needed medical attention, which she initially declined. She later advised that she did need medical attention, so I requested EMS to respond to [1100 BLOCK] Marshview Circle Drive.

I continued speaking with [VICTIM #1], and she advised that her boyfriend, Dashawn Evans, was angry. She stated she became upset with him because he was driving her father’s vehicle. I asked [VICTIM #1] if the incident had become physical between the two of them, and she nodded her head up and down, indicating “yes.”

While speaking with [VICTIM #1], her aunt, [VICTIM #2], stated, “He choked her so bad, I had to take him (Dashawn) off of her ([VICTIM #1]). He also hit me.” [VICTIM #1] then stated, “He hit my aunt.” I asked [VICTIM #2] if she needed medical attention, and she declined. At the time, [VICTIM #1] was barely speaking, and [VICTIM #2] was answering questions on her behalf. When I asked [VICTIM #1] how Dashawn had assaulted her, she advised that she did not remember and only remembered being choked. [VICTIM #2] then stated, “All over. He choked (strangled) her until she couldn’t breathe.”

I observed [VICTIM #1]’s injuries, which included red marks around her throat, a circular red abrasion on her elbow, a bloody red mark behind her ear, and red marks on the left side of her face beneath her left eye. Her eyes appeared to look like a blood vessel had popped consist with someone who had been strangled. [VICTIM #1] advised that they never made it outside of the vehicle before [VICTIM #2] came outside to stop the fight, so the physical altercation took place in the passenger side of a blue camaro.

I then went to speak with Dashawn and observed that his tank top was stretched out and had blood on both the front and back. I asked Dashawn whose blood it was, and he stated, “Hers.” He further stated, “I was pushing her off of me, and I was poking her like, ‘[VICTIM #1], stop.’ I poked her in the eye.” I asked Dashawn if he had, at any point, placed his hands around [VICTIM #1]’s throat, and he stated that he had not. I then checked Dashawn’s hands for any marks or bruising consistent with an assault, and none were visible.

After examining Dashawn’s hands, he continued to advise that nothing aggressive had happened and that he was only trying to get [VICTIM #1] off of him. I asked where the incident had occurred, and he advised that it happened at the “RaceTrac” gas station and that the gas station had cameras. He also stated they were driving home to [1100 BLOCK] Marshview Circle Drive. Dashawn stated, “I didn’t hit her, I didn’t hit her, I hit her.” Dashawn further advised that he was trying to get [VICTIM #1] off of him and that she struck him, punching him in the eye. I observed a small knot on the right side of his eye.

I then spoke with the grandmother, [WITNESS #1], who advised that Dashawn had been choking [VICTIM #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated that she and [VICTIM #2] attempted to break up the fight, and Dashawn came out swinging. [WITNESS #1] stated that Dashawn punched and choked [VICTIM #2] and threw her to the ground. [WITNESS #1] also stated that Dashawn punched [VICTIM #1], threw her to the ground, and kicked her in the head several times. [WITNESS #1] advised that the physical altercation occurred outside the residence and that [VICTIM #1] lost consciousness after being choked by Dashawn.

I then spoke with [VICTIM #2], who stated that she heard screaming outside the residence and went outside. She observed Dashawn standing on the passenger side of the vehicle over [VICTIM #1], punching her. [VICTIM #2] stated that she pushed the vehicle door into Dashawn in an attempt to get him off [VICTIM #1]. She then got between [VICTIM #1] and Dashawn to stop the assault, at which point Dashawn struck her instead. [VICTIM #2] stated that she went inside to call the police. She advised that when she returned outside, she observed Dashawn strangling [VICTIM #1].

I then spoke with witness [WITNESS #2], who stated that she heard screaming outside and observed [VICTIM #2] and [WITNESS #1] shielding [VICTIM #1] from Dashawn. She advised that this was all she observed.

I also spoke with [WITNESS #3], who advised that she had been on the phone with [VICTIM #1] and Dashawn earlier that day while they were arguing about infidelity. [WITNESS #3] stated that she heard Dashawn repeatedly say, “Get her off of me.” She advised that, during the phone call, the two were at a liquor store. I observed that both [VICTIM #1] and Dashawn appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. [WITNESS #3] also stated that “This wasn’t the first time”, indicating there were multiple fights between Dashawn and [VICTIM #1] before this incident.

[VICTIM #1] advised officers that she struck Dashawn. She stated, “I know I was fighting. I do like to put my hands on people when I need to.” She advised that she remembered that Dashawn choked her with one hand, unsure of which hand. She also advised that she could not breathe while he was choking her.

I then asked [WITNESS #1] if she wished to pursue charges for the bruising she sustained during the altercation, and she denied.

Based on the multiple witness statements of Dashawn physically choking [VICTIM #1], I had enough probable cause to arrest Dashawn for Aggravated Assault (FVA). I placed Dashawn under arrest for Aggravated Assault. He was handcuffed, checked for proper fit, double-locked, and placed in the rear of patrol vehicle 22-1 after passively resisting while walking to the vehicle. Dashawn was transported to the Glynn County Detention Center (CDC). ABIS and SOVI were completed. Dashawn was then turned over to the custody of jail staff.

Due to the two living together and having one child together, but not married this would fall under the Family Violence Act (FVA).

[NARRATIVE #2 on June 29, 2026]

On the above date I Pfc. Stogner #450 responded to [1100 BLOCK] Marshview Circle Drive in reference to an active physical argument between a black male and a white female.

Upon arrival I appraoched the female and stood by with her while other officers interviewed other parties. While standing with the female I asked her if she was okay and advised her that we had EMS in route to treat her injuries. The female stated to me that her and her boyfriend had been together for 10 years and that they had had many fights before. She stated that the argument started because she had just gotten back from a cruise and that she didn’t talk to him much when she was gone. She stated that she just wanted to feel free and needed a break from him while she was away however when she came back he accused her of cheating on him.

The female stated that this evening they were at her grandmother’s house ([1100 BLOCK] Marshview) when he wanted to drive them somewhere in her dad’s vehicle. She stated she had to put her hands on him by grabbing him as she didn’t want him drinking and driving her dad’s vehicle. She stated that’s when the argument got really scary and physical. She stated he put his hands on her grandmother in which she then put her hands on him again by slapping him on the ear and face. She stated that he then grabbed her around the neck and strangled her until she could not breath. She stated while he was strangling her he punched her several times in the eye.

The aunt then walked over to where the female and I were standing and stated that she had to get him off of her or he would of killed her. I observed scratch marks on the female’s right bicep and a laceration on her left elbow. I observed swelling on the female’s neck along with what appeared to be multiple finger nail markings on the right side of her neck. I observed the female to have a popped blood vessel in her left eye which usually is a sign of someone being strangled and unable to breath. Rescue 11 treated the female’s injuries and the female did not want to go to the hospital for further evaluations.

The female was given and explained a victim’s bill of rights phamplet by me.

[NARRATIVE #3 on June 29, 2026]

On the above date, I responded to [1100 BLOCK] Marshview Circle Drive in reference to an active physical altercation.

Upon my arrival, I observed a white female, later identified as [VICTIM #1]. Officer Wilcox (#402) began conducting the investigation by speaking with [VICTIM #1]. I also observed three females who stated they witnessed the incident. As I approached the male, later identified as Dashawn Evans, I advised my supervisor, Sgt. Debruijn (421), that Dashawn Evans is a relative of mine and asked if another officer on scene conduct the investigation.

I assisted Officer Wilcox (#402) by obtaining identifying information from the witnesses. The witnesses were identified as [VICTIM #2], who stated she is the aunt of [VICTIM #1], and [WITNESS #2], who resides at [400 BLOCK] Marshview Circle Drive. [WITNESS #2] advised she did not witness a physical altercation but heard screaming and yelling for help.

I then entered the residence to obtain information from another witness, identified as [WITNESS #1], who stated she is the grandmother of [VICTIM #1]. While speaking with Ms. [WITNESS #1], she advised she was experiencing pain in her right forearm and requested medical evaluation. I notified dispatch that Ms. [WITNESS #1] requested EMS. Once EMS arrived I advised them of the complaints. I provided Officer Wilcox (#402) with the witness information I obtained.

I observed Officer Wilcox (#402) place Dashawn Evans in handcuffs and escort him to the patrol vehicle. Dashawn Evans resisted entering the patrol vehicle, requiring Officer Wilcox (#402), Officer Santana (#491), and Officer Boatright (#493) to use reasonable physical guidance to place him inside.

Dashawn Evans was transported to the CDC by Officer Wilcox (#402). I followed to the CDC, where I assisted Officer Wilcox (#402) with the booking paperwork. Upon completion of the booking process, Dashawn Evans was turned over to CDC staff.
