On 12/25/2025, at approximately 0154 hours, I was requested to meet with Brunswick Police Department Officers at Newcastle Lane and M street Brunswick, GA, in reference to an assault that occurred in Glynn County jurisdiction.

Upon arrival, I spoke with [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated he was with [VICTIM #2] at the Friendly Express located at 4341 New Jesup Highway Brunswick, GA. [VICTIM #1] was making drinks in the store when Dedrick Wilson, [VICTIM #2]’s ex-boyfriend, approached him from behind and nudged his shoulder with his hand. He said once he turned around, Dedrick spit on him.

And argument ensued in which [VICTIM #1] tried to go outside to avoid confrontation in the store. He said [VICTIM #2] grabbed him so he would get in the car. After he got into the passenger seat, Dedrick went to the driver side where [VICTIM #2] was sitting and spit on her.

[VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2] end up switching seats so [VICTIM #1] could drive away. [VICTIM #1] begins heading South on New Jesup Highway and Dedrick began following them in his vehicle. [VICTIM #1] was driving in the left lane and Dedrick was in the right lane in between the Dash Food Mart and Seldon Park when Dedrick rammed the left side of his vehicle into the right side of their vehicle. He stated this collision caused him to begin travelling in the opposite lane so he hit the brakes and turned left on Fourth Street.

Dedrick continued to follow him and [VICTIM #2] until they reached his sister’s house near M Street. He stated as he was turning left onto Newcastle Street Lane from M Street, Dedrick hit the rear end of their vehicle with the front end of his.

I then spoke with [VICTIM #2]. She stated she has been very cautious of her surroundings due to being followed by Dedrick. She has been in an on and off relationship with Dedrick for the past five years but recently cut him off completely. Today, her and [VICTIM #1] were inside the Friendly Express at the drink section when she looked over and noticed Dedrick standing in front of [VICTIM #1]. She stated, “I could just see crazy on his face.” This is when Dedrick started talking trash to [VICTIM #1] then spits in his face.

[VICTIM #1] then grabs Dedrick’s shoulder to create distance and starts backing up and telling him “we are not going to do this here.” [VICTIM #1] then begins to push him out of the way to get outside. [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2] get in their vehicle, a gray 2017 Nissan Rogue GA tag: [REDACTED]. [VICTIM #2] heard Dedrick say, “I’ m going to kill you.” Dedrick then approaches the driver side door where [VICTIM #2] was sitting, opened the door, and spit on her.

She also mentioned that Dedrick grabbed her while she was in the car. This is when [VICTIM #1] got out of the passenger side of the vehicle to confront Dedrick and telling him he is not going to touch her. Dedrick then begins to back away from the car. Once Dedrick backs away, [VICTIM #1] suggests to switch seats so that he could drive away.

[VICTIM #1] then takes a right on New Jesup Highway to head towards his sister’s house on Newcastle Street Lane. Once they were passing by the Glynn County Detention Center on Norwich Street in the left lane, Dedrick begins to make contact with their vehicle as he was driving in the right lane following them.

She said she could hear Dedrick screaming at them and begin throwing items at their vehicle. Once they began to pass the Dash Food Mart on Newcastle Street, Dedrick full on rammed their vehicle as they were in the left lane and Dedrick was in the right lane. She stated this is when [VICTIM #1] was pretty much forced to turn left at the caution light on Fourth Street to avoid getting rammed further.

Once she thought they lost him, she began to call 911. They began travelling back on Newcastle Street ands turned left on M street to go towards Newcastle Street Lane when all of the sudden Dedrick approached their vehicle from behind and rear ended their vehicle with his. [VICTIM #1] then turns left on to Newcastle Street Lane and gets out at his sisters house. She observed Dedrick circle the block and drive past slowly on N street and passed the house they were at. This is when she saw patrol vehicle lights and officers arrive on scene.

I then made contact with [VICTIM #1] again to ask if he heard Dedrick make any threats towards them when they were at the Friendly Express and he could not remember specifics due to being overstimulated.

[VICTIM #2] explained she has filled out an application for a good behavior warrant hearing against Dedrick due to all of the recent events. She has explained their has been multiple incidents in the past where she has seen his vehicle driving by her house. She also reported to the police that her hub caps were missing and she assumed he did this.

She also explained their was an incident where he attacked her and smashed her phone two weeks ago. She also showed me text messages from earlier the same day where she received text messages from a text now app where Dedrick possibly used this app to give him a different phone number to text her. I took photographs of the text messages and uploaded them to evidence.com.

I then made contact with Dedrick. He stated he arrived at the Friendly Express and noticed [VICTIM #2] and [VICTIM #1]. He then approached [VICTIM #1] and nudged him on the shoulder and began arguing back and forth with him. He denied ever spitting on [VICTIM #1]. He said they began to walk outside and [VICTIM #1] was yelling at him so he yelled back.

Dedrick stated he told [VICTIM #1], “Follow me if its a problem”. He stated he was not going to go South on New Jesup Highway at first and that he was going to head towards Ellis Point park on exit 29. He then says he turns right to leave Friendly Express and begins blowing up his friends phone who lives on Wolfe Street.

He begins to explain that [VICTIM #1] was the one that began following him and yelling with their windows down, which is a complete contradiction to the other parties story. He also stated he left the Friendly Express first which also contradicts Ofc. Kennedy’s findings from a witness statement at the Friendly Express.

After he was asked who was in front of who on the road, he stated they were going back and forth on who was in front. After he was asked when their vehicle’s collided he stated it was near Seldon Park on Newcastle Street. He stated he was in the right lane and the other parties were in the left lane. He explained that a vehicle was in front of him in the right lane and he swerved into the left lane and made contact with the other vehicle in the left lane, which is improbable.

He stated after they collided he took a left and began travelling on Reynolds Street. He stated they were following him at this point which also contradicts the other parties statement. He stated he was going to his friends house on Wolfe Street because his friend has a firearm and he wanted to, “stand his ground.”

He then was questioned on how he has damage to the front of his vehicle and he stated it must have been from the bushes on the alleyway. Which does not corroborate with the marks on his vehicle as they were evidently from colliding with another vehicle.

After I asked him if he ever rear ended their vehicle and he stated that they cut him off and slammed on brakes to turn onto Newcastle Street Lane from M Street. This would indicate that Dedrick was the one following [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2]. He admitted to circling the block and driving by on N Street and circling back around to M Street. This is when Brunswick Police Officers arrived on scene.

After further questioning Dedrick on the incident that happened at the Friendly Express, he stated he never spit on either parties and also never grabbed [VICTIM #2] when she was in the car, which was false due to Ofc. Kennedy’s findings from witness statements she gathered at the Friendly Express.

Dedrick did admit to grabbing [VICTIM #2]’s door. He also denied throwing anything at the vehicle the other parties were travelling in. Lt. Herndon found a wrench on the road in the exact area [VICTIM #2] alleged to have heard something his her vehicle. Dedrick is a maintenance man and it is reasonable to believe he had that wrench in his vehicle.

I also asked Dedrick why he felt the need to attempt to drive to his friends house on Wolfe Street to get a gun. He stated it was due to the way [VICTIM #1] was talking to him. I asked what [VICTIM #1] was saying and he replied saying he did not want to incriminate him.

Lt. Herndon arrived on scene and began questioning him about the wrench he found. During this, He told Lt. Herndon he originally went to Friendly Express to meet up with [VICTIM #1] and “bang it out” but it went left. I immediately called him out on the contradicting statement and minutes after he denied ever saying that he was supposed to meet up and fight him. He redacted again and stated he was just at the Friendly Express to get gas.

Once Lt. Herndon was done speaking with Dedrick, I asked him why he did not call the police. He stated, “If I’m going to be honest, if he was going to follow me to my friends house, this would have been a different call tonight.” This was him referring to going and getting his friends gun.

On [VICTIM #2]’s vehicle I observed dents and scratches all down the right side of the vehicle. On the right side rear end I observed the bumper to be popped out of place. On Dedrick’s vehicle, a 2012 gray Jeep Grand Cherokee GA tag: [REDACTED], I observed dents and scratches down the left side of his vehicle and minor damage to the right side of the front bumper. [VICTIM #2] estimated the damages to her vehicle to be an approximate $1700 in value.

At the conclusion of my investigation I had probable cause to arrest Dedrick on Aggravated Assault for ramming their vehicle on the road way, Criminal Damage to Property in the Second Degree for ramming their vehicle on the roadway and causing more than $500 worth of damage, and Simple Battery for grabbing [VICTIM #2] at the Friendly Express.

I also had probable cause due to the damage on the vehicles, Dedricks inconsistent statements and also Ofc. Kennedy obtaining witness statements and footage of Dedrick grabbing and spitting on [VICTIM #2]. [VICTIM #2] advised she wanted to press charges but [VICTIM #1] did not.

I advised Dedrick he was under arrest and placed him in handcuffs. I conducted a search incident to arrest and no weapons or contraband was located. I escorted him to my patrol car, sat him in the back seat, and was unable to apply the seatbelt due to his large stature.

I transported Dedrick to the Glynn County Detention Center and booked him. Ofc. Sullivan stood by with Dedrick’s vehicle until it was towed from the roadway. Photographs of the damage was uploaded to evidence.com. A photograph of the ABIS/SOVI was uploaded to evidence.com. All videos uploaded to evidence.com
