[NARRATIVE #1 on June 01, 2026]

On June 1, 2026, at approximately 2125 hours, I, Officer Austin #483, was on duty with Patrol A-1 of the Brunswick Police Department (BPD). I was in full BPD patrol uniform and equipped with an Axon Body 4 camera. I was operating marked patrol vehicle 24-2.

While patrolling the 2200 block of Gordon Street, I observed several individuals standing on the corner of L Street and the 2100 block of Gordon Street. The 2100 block of Gordon Street is a known location for loitering and prowling activity in and around the L Street Liquor Store. Approximately ten minutes prior, Pfc. Saint Louis had issued verbal warnings to approximately seven individuals to leave the area.

As I approached the stop sign at the intersection of the 2200 block of Gordon Street and L Street, I activated my cruise lights and spotlight and used my patrol vehicle intercom an instructed everyone to leave the area. As the crowd began dispersing and crossing L Street onto the 2200 block of Gordon Street, I heard yelling and observed a Black male wearing a white graphic shirt and gray pants walking behind a Black female and a Black male in an aggressive fighting stance. His fists were clenched near his face, and he was standing with a wide stance. The male was yelling, “I’ll fu*k you, b*tch.” The male was later identified as Dwell Jewuan Dyer.

I exited my patrol vehicle, advised dispatch to open a call for a problem person, and requested for additional units. Due to Mr. Dyer’s aggressive behavior, attempts to fight others, and threatening demeanor, I drew my department-issued TASER.

Mr. Dyer’s speech was slurred, his eyes were glassy, and saliva was drooling from his mouth and nose. As another male attempted to escort Mr. Dyer away and repeatedly told him to stop and leave, Mr. Dyer began walking north on the 2200 block of Gordon Street. While staggering down the sidewalk, he laid down in the grass next to the sidewalk.

As I approached, the other male attempted to assist Mr. Dyer to his feet. Mr. Dyer suddenly jumped up and began yelling, “I’m going to beat your a*s, and I’m going to kill you,” while pulling away from the male. Mr. Dyer then began walking south at a fast, forceful pace toward Pfc. Saint Louis, while continuing to yell. Due to his slurred speech, I was unable to understand the remainder of his statements.

Pfc. Saint Louis deployed his TASER, striking Mr. Dyer in his inner left arm and the front of his shirt. Mr. Dyer was assisted the ground and both hands were handcuffed behind his back. The handcuffs were double locked and checked for tightness.

A search incident to arrest revealed a kitchen knife with a green handle, smooth blade, and pointed tip in Mr. Dyer’s right pants pocket. I also located a small clear bottle containing a clear liquid labeled as Taaka vodka (40% alcohol, 80 proof). No other contraband was found.

Mr. Dyer was placed in the rear seat of my patrol vehicle and transported to the Glynn County Detention Center, where he was released to booking staff without incident.

Mr. Dyer was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Public Drunkenness.

[NARRATIVE #2 on June 01, 2026]

On the above date and time, I, Officer M. Saint Louis, while on duty with the Brunswick Police Department, responded to the 2200 block of Gordon Street in reference to an intoxicated male causing a disturbance. While patrolling within the City of Brunswick, Officer L. Austin advised over the radio that he needed assistance with an intoxicated male who was causing a disturbance and becoming combative. I activated my emergency lights and siren and responded eastbound on L Street using due regard.

Upon arriving at the 2200 block of Gordon Street, I observed Officer Austin with his Taser displayed. A male wearing a white shirt was on the ground, and another male wearing a black shirt was standing near Officer Austin. The male on the ground then stood up and became combative, swinging his arms toward Officer Austin and the other male.

As I approached, the male began walking toward me with his fists balled and his head lowered while stating, “What are you going to do?” I gave the male verbal commands to get on the ground and stop advancing; however, he continued walking toward me. The other male attempted to stop him from approaching, but he continued advancing in an aggressive manner.

I then deployed my Taser, striking the male with two probes, one in the front torso area and one on the left arm, causing him to stop momentarily. Due to the male’s apparent high level of intoxication, the Taser deployment appeared to have little to no effect despite both probes making contact. I grabbed him and took him to the ground. With the assistance of Officer Austin, I was able to gain control of and subdue the male.

The male was placed in handcuffs, which were double-locked and checked for proper fit. A search incident to arrest was conducted while the male was on the ground. During the search, a green-handled knife was located in the male’s right front pants pocket. A cellular phone and vape device were located in his left pocket.

Due to the male not appearing to have any injuries, he was transported to the Glynn County Detention Center, where he was released to intake personnel without further incident.
