On 06/19/2026, I responded to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in reference to a stabbing that occurred at [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

The victim, [VICTIM #1], called to report that a female had stabbed him. He told dispatch that he did not want anything done about this and just wanted it documented. I made contact with Mr. [VICTIM #1] in the lobby of the hospital. Mr. [VICTIM #1] had a cut on his right shin area. It was about 1/5 inch long and was bleeding. This cut appeared to have been from a sharp object.

Mr. [VICTIM #1] did not want to give me the name of the female involved and kept stating he did not want anyone arrested, he simply wanted this documented. I was later able to identify the female involved as Ja’Laysha Workman. Mr. [VICTIM #1] and Ms. Workman have lived together for about five years and have a child together. They have a history of domestic violence cases involving each other at separate residences.

On 06/18/2026, him and Ms. Workman were arguing about him not getting her food after work. [Ms]. Workman did get her food however when she got home, they argued over Ms. Workman ignoring him on the phone while he was getting food. In their argument Ms. Workman called him selfish and was upset with him. That “heated” argument made the tension at home still be there the following day (6/19).

At around 1400 hours, Mr. [VICTIM #1] went and picked Ms. Workman up at work. Не wanted the tension between them to go away so offered to take her to the liquor store. While they were at home, the argument started because Ms. Workman paused the TV show they were watching and began listening to music. Mr. [VICTIM #1] asked Ms. Workman why she turned off the TV, she said “Casper the ghost did it” turned the tv off. He could not understand why she started “acting different all the sudden”. This made Mr. [VICTIM #1] start asking her what was going on.

They began arguing and the argument escalated. Mr. [VICTIM #1] grabbed her cell phone since she was acting “different”. He suspected that she might have been having an affair. Mr. [VICTIM #1] went into their bedroom with her cell phone and Ms. Workman kept following him around also asking for his cell phone. He gave her his cell phone and that “was not enough for her”. Ms. Workman then kept asking for her phone back. While they were in the bedroom, Ms. Workman and him kept pushing each other around. Mr. [VICTIM #1] claims he pushed Ms. Workman off of him and she fell, that she might claim he punched her.

Mr. [VICTIM #1] went to the living room with her cell phone and this is when she took two knives out. Initially, she put one of the knives up to his stomach and said “give me my phone”. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated she then tried to grab the phone out of his hand and could not so she proceeded to throw the knives at him. He described the knives as one large and one small kitchen knife. He could not recall which knife cut him but she did throw both at him. Mr. [VICTIM #1] thought the knives were still in their living room or possibly got thrown away.

At around 1704 hours, Mr. [VICTIM #1] called Ms. Workman. He learned that she left with a friend named [REDACTED] in a newer Kia. I was able to identify this friend as possibly [REDACTED] ([100 BLOCK] Bishop Street).

I briefed Sgt. P. Edgy and Sgt. B. Rusch on the circumstances surrounding this case.

I photographed the injuries Mr. [VICTIM #1] had. The cut on his shin, a cut on his back, and blood on his shirt front and back.

Mr. [VICTIM #1] was provided with a case number and Victims bill of rights.
