The male was later identified as James Bosley (OFFENDER). Upon making contact with Bosley, he advised that he had not done anything wrong. Bosley stated that he had been sitting outside of 2226 Glynn Ave when an unknown male approached him and told him to leave the property. According to Bosley, the male advised him that their encounter had been captured on camera. Bosley further stated that the male approached him again with his fist balled. Bosley advised that he believed the male was threatening him and feared that the male was going to engage in a physical confrontation with him. Bosley stated that due to feeling threatened by the male’s actions, he drew a small machete and pointed it toward the male. Bosley maintained that he displayed the machete because he believed the male was threatening him.
During my investigation, I was instructed by PFC. Gullette to detain Bosley. I placed Bosley in handcuffs and detained him. Bosley was searched incident to the detention and subsequently secured in the rear seat of my patrol vehicle. I then responded to the original incident location, where the other officers were conducting their investigation. Upon arrival, I spoke with PF. Gullette, who advised that he had spoken with the victim and witnesses regarding the incident. Based on the information obtained during the investigation, PFC. Gullette advised me that Bosley was being charged with Aggravated Assault.
