On Monday June 23, 2025 at approximately 0010 hours, Deputy B.G POTTER with the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office Uniform Patrol Division responded to [900 BLOCK] Liberty Road, Gordon County Georgia in reference to a domestic in progress.
Upon arrival Deputy POTTER observed two females standing behind a car and observed another female getting out of a car yelling and waving her arms around at the other two females that were standing by the car. Deputy POTTER told the female getting out of the car later identified as BRIDGET CHILDERS to stay where she was and he would speak with her in a minute. Deputy POTTER observed a strong odor of marijuana outside the residence.
Deputy POTTER attempted to speak with [WITNESS #1] who stated that BRIDGET comes in and out of the residence but does not live there. BRIDGET came to the back of the car where [WITNESS #1] and the other female was standing and continuously tried to talk over [WITNESS #1] while she was trying to explain what was going on. It appeared to Deputy POTTER that BRIDGET was under the influence of some type of substance. Deputy POTTER attempted to listen to [WITNESS #1] but could not understand what she was saying due to BRIDGET repeating “I live here my child lives here.” Deputy POTTER told BRIDGET to go back over to her car and she shook her head “no” and stated “that’s fine” Deputy POTTER went to detain BRIDGET so that he could finish gathering information and figure out the situation without being interrupted. When Deputy POTTER reached for BRIDGET’S left hand to be put into handcuffs, she pulled away from Deputy POTTER. Deputy POTTER immediately grabbed BRIDGET’S right arm and walked her over to the front of Deputy POTTER’S patrol car and pushed her onto the hood due to her jerking her arm away. Deputy POTTER then arrested BRIDGET for Obstruction.
Deputy POTTER went back and spoke with [WITNESS #1]. It was established that the situation was a civil issue. Deputy POTTER explained the process to [WITNESS #1] on how to get an eviction notice.
Deputy POTTER transported BRIDGET to the GCSO Jail with further incident. Deputy POTTER took out a state warrant on BRIDGET for Misdemeanor Obstruction of Law Enforcement.
