On Friday, August 11, 2023 at approximately 1120 hours CAPT J. T. JENKINS with the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office spoke to Mrs. [REDACTED], principal of Tolbert Elementary School.
Mrs. [REDACTED] advised that she was informed by the school counselor, [REDACTED] that juvenile student [VICTIM #1] made a disclosure that her father gets drunk, becomes mean and hits her. Juvenile [VICTIM #1] advised that she was kicked in her left leg and punched in her left arm by her dad on 08/10/2023. Juvenile [VICTIM #1] also disclosed that she wants to die and has thought about stabbing herself in the stomach with a knife.
CAPT JENKINS made contact with LT S. J. YANCY with the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division and advised him of the disclosure. LT YANCY advised that he would have a detective en route. At approximately 1205 DET D. D. NELSON arrived at Tolbert Elementary and was briefed on all the information available at the time.
