On Aug 25, 2026 at approximately 16:30 hrs, I Deputy Keith Lashley of the Grady County Sheriffs Office responded to Walden Rd in reference to unlawful dumping. Upon arrival I made contact with Mr [WITNESS #1] of [200 BLOCK] walden Rd. [WITNESS #1] stated that he had a video of the person dumping the trash, which appeared to be scrap building materials of a fence.
I then watched the video of the person dumping the trash, which was a gray in color Dodge 1500 bearing the GA license plate [REDACTED] pulling a small utility trailer. I then entered the license plate number into GCIC/NCIC, with the return of Jared Tompkins being the registered owner. [WITNESS #1] then stated that there was a new fence being built on Blackberry Ln. I took pictures of the debris that was located in two different spots along the roadside, approximately 200 yard apart. As I was taking photos, I observed what I appeared to be where a vehicle pulled of the roadway onto the shoulder and then spun back on to the roadway dragging something.
I then went to the area of Blackberry Ln, where I observed a crate with what appeared to be the same building materials. I made contact with the residents of [100 BLOCK] Blackberry Ln, Mr [WITNESS #2]. I then questioned [WITNESS #2] on who was constructing their fence and if they where doing any work their today. [WITNESS #2] stated that he hired Pro Guard to construct their fence and that they where on the property today doing some clean up.
I then questioned [WITNESS #2] on what type of vehicle the company was using, [WITNESS #2] stated it was a gray Dodge 1500 pickup pulling a small utility trailer. I then asked [WITNESS #2] if he new the drivers name, [WITNESS #2] stated that his first name was Jared but he didn’t know his last name. I then asked [WITNESS #2] if he would provide the contact info for the company Pro Guard. [WITNESS #2] then provided the name and number of [WITNESS #3].
I then made contact with [WITNESS #3] via phone and questioned him on my finding of the unlawful dumping that Thompkins was suspected of. [WITNESS #3] stated that Thompkins wasn’t a full time employee, but did use him on occasionally on jobs and he was on [100 BLOCK] Blackberry Ln job site today. [WITNESS #3] stated that he had no knowledge of the dumping. [WITNESS #3] stated that he was going to contact Thompkins about the matter. [WITNESS #3] then contacted me again stated that he talked to Thompkins and he was going back to pick the debris up.
