On July 27th, 2026, Lt. Cason was dispatched and responded code three (emergency lights and sirens) to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Clarkesville, GA in reference to a physical domestic in progress call. While en route to the residence, dispatch updated that the aggressor had put his hands on the caller, the aggressor had been drinking, the aggressor was kicking the front door in while trying to make entry, the aggressor attempted to lock her out of the residence with a 6 year old child in the residence, the aggressor was kicking the caller, the aggressor grabbed the caller by the wrist and would not let her leave, the aggressor threatened to kill her, and the aggressor broke the caller’s phone and struck her in the nose, possibly causing it to be broken.

Dispatch advised that the caller was able to attempt to barricade her and her 6 year old in a bedroom inside the residence but could not due to not having locks on the door. The caller advised dispatch that her daughter was in shock from what she just witnessed. Once Cason was near the residence, he deactivated his siren and left his emergency lights on.

Once on scene, Cason was met in the driveway by a male who was visibly intoxicated walking towards his vehicle. Cason directed the male to stand in front of his vehicle which he did not and continued walking towards Cason. The male then turned around when he got close to Cason and placed his hands behind his back. Cason then placed handcuffs on him at this time, sizing for fit and double locking. Cason then directed the male to lean up against his vehicle so he could search him for weapons. The male pushed back and screamed “lets go, get me the fu*k out of here”. Cason had to place the male on the hood of his vehicle with the assistance of Sgt. Carter and was able to search him. Cason placed the male in the rear passenger seat of his vehicle until he could figure out what happened. As the door was being shut, the male attempted to lunge out of the vehicle and his head on the door.

Cason then went to speak with the caller, identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Cason observed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] nose to be swollen and bleeding. Cason also observed a mark on her left forearm and right tricep/shoulder area. Cason obtained photographs of the marks and wounds for the report. Cason then asked about the phone, which [REDACTED BY AGENCY] presented. Cason observed a shattered (front and back of the phone) Apple iPhone. Cason also observed parts from the front door lying on the front porch as well as inside the front door on the ground.

Cason then entered the residence to find that the door frame had been busted from where Anthony kicked the door in. Cason obtained photographs of the damage. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that her live-in boyfriend, identified as Anthony Gil Prete, had been drinking heavily. She advised this date, she was on the phone with a male friend helping him out with his business as she does digital marketing as a profession. She stated Anthony found that she was on the phone with a male friend and became angry. She stated that he started yelling and cursing, flipping her off/shooting her birds with his middle finger, and slamming stuff around.

She stated that Anthony began yelling and cursing, attempting to start a fight. She stated they went outside and continued arguing. She stated that he put his hands on her and grabbed her arm. She stated she pulled away and tried to walk inside. She stated that Anthony grabbed her phone after he realized that she had called 911 and broke it in an attempt to disconnect the call. She stated that Anthony turned around and struck her with a closed fist in her face, causing her nose to bust open and started bleeding. She stated that she attempted to run into the residence and shut him out to keep him from hurting her. She stated that he kicked the door in, damaging it and ran up to her and grabbed her.

She stated a short time later, her neighbor ([REDACTED BY AGENCY]) came to the residence to check on her because she heard all the yelling. She stated that Anthony held her by her arms and prevented her from going to the door. She advised that Anthony did all this in front of her 6 year old daughter, [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. She stated that Anthony ended up letting go and went to the door himself. She stated when he saw it was [REDACTED BY AGENCY] he just walked outside and said “where they at, come get me”, talking about law enforcement. She advised that right after that, Cason arrived on scene. Cason asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] is she would fill out a witness statement about the incident and she agreed.

Cason then spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] who witness the yelling. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that she and her husband went out to their front yard when they heard their neighbor, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] screaming for help. She stated that she decided to walk over and check. She stated as she approached the residence, the people ([REDACTED BY AGENCY] and Anthony) on the front porch went inside. She advised that she knocked on the door and it was opened by the man (Anthony) who immediately began asserting everything was [REDACTED BY AGENCY] fault. She stated that she then saw [REDACTED BY AGENCY] whose nose was bleeding, and was very distraught. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that Anthony and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] began yelling at each other again so she stepped between them to encourage the male to leave. She stated that he walked out to the driveway but continued to yell at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] with her yelling back at him. She stated that they continued to yell at each other and advance towards each other, then back away. She stated that she stepped in between them again and law enforcement arrived on scene.

Cason then went in and spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] while her mother [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stood by to witness. Cason did ask [REDACTED BY AGENCY] permission before speaking with her. Cason asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] if she saw what happened. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she saw Anthony grab her mama and hold her near the kitchen. She stated that he would not let her go. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she was very scared and thanked us for coming to help her mama.

Cason then advised that Anthony was under arrest at this time. Cason went back to his vehicle to check on Anthony after he heard him screaming. Deputy Luders and Deputy Rabern were on scene and stood by. Cason found that Anthony, while in his back seat, busted his left eye causing it to bleed. Cason requested that Deputy Luders and Deputy Rabern transport Anthony to the hospital to be checked out and cleared while he finished up investigating the incident. Deputy Luders and Deputy Rabern took Anthony out of Cason’s patrol vehicle and transported him to the hospital. Cason finished up and responded to the hospital to meet with Luders and Rabern. Once at the hospital, Cason attempted to interview Anthony about the incident. Cason asked him why he and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were arguing. He stated that she drinks a lot and he drank with her. He advised that she has a problem drinking so he was going to show her what kind of problem it causes when she drinks so much. Cason also asked him how he busted his eye. He just turned his head and said “I don’t know”.

Once Anthony was cleared by the hospital staff, Cason escorted him to his patrol vehicle and placed him in the rear passenger seat and seat belted him in for safety. Cason then transported him to the Habersham County Detention Center where he was turned over to detention staff without incident for the charges of Battery FVA, Cruelty to Children 2nd degree, False Imprisonment, Criminal Damage to property 2nd degree, Criminal Trespass and Interference with a 911 call. Cason searched his back seat before and after transport revealing no contraband. Cason will also review his in car camera to see how Anthony busted his eye.
