On Friday, August 22, 2025 at approximately 1455hrs I Deputy Jonathan Maney was dispatched to a physical domestic at [REDACTED BY AGENCY], Demorest GA 30535. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that when she finally got into the house Grady followed her into her bedroom were he threatened to choke her to death and slice her throat open with a knife while she was asleep. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was able to dial 911, while on the phone Grady lunged at her in an attempt to take the phone from her. I then asked Grady what happened, Grady stated that he got mad because [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. When asked why Grady put hands [REDACTED BY AGENCY] he said he was trying to get the phone away and talk to her. When asked about the scratch Grady stated he had long finger nails. At that point I placed Grady in handcuffs from the rear checking for fit and double locked for safety. Due to Gradys wrist size two pairs of cuffs was used. I then escorted Grady to my patrol vehicle were he was searched incident arrest. I then secured Grady in the rear of my patrol vehicle which had been cleared prior of any contraband.
I then gathered a witness statement from [REDACTED BY AGENCY] before transporting Grady to the Habersham County Detention Center where he was turned over to jail staff without incident.
