McDonough’s Restaurant & Lounge in Savannah receives a 65% on their recent health inspection

McDonough’s Restaurant & Lounge, located at 21 E McDonough St in Savannah, received a score of 65 points out of a possible 100 points during their 03/06/2024 inspection by the Georgia Department of Public Health.

RCA: Employees shall not use tobacco in any form, or electronic devices that simulate tobacco smoking, while engaged in food preparation or service, nor while in areas used for equipment or utensil washing and storage, food preparation or food storage. Employees shall only use tobacco products or electronic devices that simulate tobacco smoking in approved designated areas.

Inspector Notes: Observed heavy build-up on the compartment where ice is dispensed inside the ice machine. RCA: Inspector educated PIC on proper wash, rinse, and sanitization of ice machine. Ice machine should be emptied washed, rinsed, and sanitized as soon as possible before. PIC shall ensure ice machine is cleaned at a frequency to prevent build-up/ contamination.

Nonfood-contact surfaces of equipment shall be kept free of an accumulation of dust, dirt, food residue, and other debris.
