On July 8, 2026, at approximately 2248 hours, I, Ofc. M. Hildreth, was dispatched to the Texaco located at 756 Hwy 155 S, McDonough, Henry County, GA, in reference to a two-vehicle accident which had occurred on the roadway near the Texaco.
Before arriving on scene, the female party whose vehicle was rear ended, Ms. [VICTIM #1], stated that the male party involved had left the location stating he needed to go to work. He provided a driver’s license picture and a picture of an insurance card showing a Kia Stinger.
The insurance card had insurance which had expired the female was certain that Mr. James Wynn, who was identified from the license, had been driving a Dodge Charger. Ms. [VICTIM #1] did not notice the insurance was for the wrong vehicle and had expired until I arrived. Mr. Wynn had left the scene of an accident without providing accurate, correct, and valid information as it relates to his vehicle and insurance.
When I contacted Mr. Wynn via phone he did not answer and after a few minutes contacted me back. He stated he could not come back to the scene and then attempted to use another vehicle not in the accident with valid insurance over the phone as the vehicle involved. This was the same Kia Stinger that was on the original insurance card only this time the insurance was valid as it was an updated card.
He stated on the phone that he did not own a Dodge Charger and was driving the Kia. However, video evidence revealed a Dodge Charger was involved and not the Kia Stinger he claimed. Additionally, he admitted to stating he was going to falsely tell the insurance company that the Kia was involved because the Charger was a friend’s vehicle.
He was arrested for hit and run, following too closely, and providing false statements and documents related to the accident.
