On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 3:20, I was dispatched to [10 BLOCK] Grove Creek Drive regarding a verbal domestic altercation. Upon arrival at the residence, I noticed two subjects standing in the driveway in the dark next to a red truck. As I began approaching the subjects, a male voice told me to turn and, to the effect, leave.
As I continued walking towards the subject, he once again told me to turn and leave, and I replied that I would place his on the truck he was standing next to. After talking several more steps, the male turned and began running into the open garage towards the back. Not knowing the male’s intent as he ran away, I drew my Taser and informed the male that he was about to be tasered. The male ran into a utility closet. I lost sight of him just for a moment before he walked out with his hands up.
The male was handcuffed and escorted by Officer Walker to his vehicle while I spoke with the male’s family. The family identified the male as Johnny Ross. The family stated that Mr. Ross was heavily intoxicated and was verbally attacking other family members, causing damage to both the drywall in the living room and the refrigerator. The family living at the residence didn’t want Mr. Ross to be arrested; they just wanted him to leave.
Upon talking with Mr. Ross, he expressed the desire to be arrested and stated he had a small amount of marijuana. Upon checking his pocket, I did locate a small bag containing a green leafy substance that emitted the smell of raw marijuana in his front left pocket.
Mr. Ross was arrested for one count of Disorderly Conduct (subsection t) for hindering my investigation when he attempted to run from police. The small bag of marijuana was taken and logged into evidence for destruction at the Locust Grove Police Department.
Mr. Ross was transported to the Henry County Jail by Officer Walker.
