On 09-26-2026 at approximately 2215 hours, I Officer Compton responded to a disturbance call at 650 Macon Street, McDonough, Georgia 30253. Upon arrival, I observed a Shambaugh and Sons Contractors-Engineers company vehicle bearing Indiana registration [REDACTED], unit number 13694, parked in the lot with a shredded front passenger-side tire and scratches along the passenger side.
I made contact with the manager, who stated he had made rounds outside and noticed the damaged truck. He observed a male subject loitering in the parking lot in a very inebriated state. The manager reported receiving information from a customer about the subject sitting in a white Jeep. When the manager confronted the subject, he witnessed him passed out in one of the servers’ vehicles. The manager stated the subject had to be woken up and was causing a disturbance at the location.
I approached the subject and identified him as Mr. Mario Hill through his driver’s license. Hill stated he had coworkers at the location and claimed he knew someone inside the establishment. When asked which vehicle was his, Hill pointed to different vehicles and provided inconsistent statements about his presence at the location. A female server came outside and stated Hill had been in her vehicle without permission. She reported that a customer had seen Hill getting out of the damaged truck and entering the white Jeep, then later entering her vehicle, where he was found passed out. The server confirmed Hill was not known to her or any staff member.
Hill exhibited an odor of alcohol, constant swaying back and forth, an inability to maintain his balance, and slurred speech. When questioned about his arrival, Hill provided conflicting statements about whether he had been inside the establishment and who he was meeting. Staff confirmed through their review that Hill arrived at approximately 1938 hours (7:38 PM) by himself and never entered the business.
Hill stated he had been at Tailgaters earlier and left work around 1900 hours (7:00 PM). When asked about the flat tire, Hill claimed he hit a curb around the corner from the location. I observed that the front passenger-side tire was completely shredded, with melted wires visible, indicating the vehicle had been driven for multiple miles on the damaged tire. The vehicle would not start, and the windows would not operate due to the melted wiring.
Based on Hill’s odor of alcohol, constant swaying, inability to maintain his balance, slurred speech, and his actions of causing a disturbance at the location and entering vehicles to sleep, I determined probable cause existed for public intoxication. I then placed Hill under arrest. His hands were placed behind his back, checked for fitment, and double locked. I inventoried Hill’s property, counting $220 in cash in his presence. The manager provided Hill’s keys, which staff had secured in the office.
I obtained the company vehicle information, showing that it belonged to Shambaugh and Sons Contractors-Engineers. The manager stated the business would contact the company the following day to arrange for the vehicle to be retrieved and did not wish to pursue trespassing charges.
I transported Hill to the Henry County Jail on a citation for public intoxication under city ordinance.
