On April 21, 2026, at approximately 1004 hours, I, Deputy M. Towns #9496, was on duty with the Houston County Sheriffs Office School Resource Officer Division at Northside High School. I was notified by school administration of a physical altercation that had occurred in the 1200 hallway area of the school.
INVESTIGATION:
Upon arrival, I made contact with student Kyan Hogue. Hogue stated that a student identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY] informed him that another student, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], had called her a derogatory name, specifically referring to her as a b*tch.
Hogue stated that during class change, he actively searched the hallway for [REDACTED BY AGENCY] with the intent to confront him regarding the comment. Hogue further stated that while in the hallway, a student identified as Damari Ingram, who is a friend of [REDACTED BY AGENCY], approached him. They had a verbal confrontation.
Hogue admitted that he initiated physical contact by throwing the first punch and striking Ingram. Hogue stated that a physical altercation then ensued between himself and Ingram.
I then made contact with Damari Ingram. Ingram declined to provide a written statement but verbally indicated that the incident was captured on school surveillance cameras and repeatedly advised officers to review the footage.
School video camera was reviewed.
Both Hogue and Ingram admitted to engaging in a mutual physical altercation in the 1200 hallway.
CONCLUSION/DISPOSITION:
Based on the statements obtained, admissions made by both parties, and the totality of the circumstances, I determined that probable cause existed to believe that Kyan Hogue and Damari Ingram did knowingly engage in fighting in a public place, in violation of Georgia law.
Both individuals were placed under arrest for Affray and Disruption of Schools.
Hogue and Ingram were placed in handcuffs behind their backs. The handcuffs were checked for proper fit and double-locked. Both subjects were searched incident to arrest.
Hogue and Ingram were transported to the Houston County Detention Center, where they were turned over to detention personnel without incident.
