On 04/11/2026, at approximately 2306 hours, I, Cpl. Rendon, was dispatched to the area of I-75 northbound near the 126 mile marker in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Dispatch advises that a female, identified as [VICTIM #1], reported she had been struck in the face while traveling northbound on I-75. She further advised the suspect, identified as Lorenzo Bolden, exited the vehicle after they pulled over near mile marker 126. [VICTIM #1] stated she continued driving with her two children, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY], to a nearby gas station to await law enforcement.
I responded to 301 AG Village Blvd., Perry, GA (Striplings General Store), but [VICTIM #1] was no longer on scene. I contacted her by phone, and she advised she left due to concern for her children and the late hour. She provides her residence as [REDACTED]. I advise her I will respond to that location to continue my investigation.
After leaving the gas station, I patrolled the interstate in both directions attempting to locate Bolden on foot, but I was unable to locate him.
Upon arrival at [VICTIM #1]’s residence, I make contact with her. [VICTIM #1] was seated outside in a white Toyota Camry bearing Georgia tag [REDACTED]. [VICTIM #1] stated while traveling from Cordele, GA, she was seated in the front passenger seat while Bolden was driving. She stated she observed communications on Boldens phone from another female. When she confronted him, Bolden became agitated and struck her in the face (mouth area) with the back of his right hand.
[VICTIM #1] stated she repeatedly demanded Bolden to pull over and exit the vehicle. Bolden complied near mile marker 126 and left the scene on foot wearing a green hoodie and blue jeans. [VICTIM #1] confirmed both minor children were present in the backseat during the incident.
I observed visible injury to [VICTIM #1]s lip, including swelling and broken blood vessels, consistent with her statement of being struck. Photographs were taken and attached to the report. [VICTIM #1] also completed a written statement of the incident while on scene to also be attached to the report.
[VICTIM #1] further stated there have been prior incidents of domestic violence involving Bolden.
Based on [VICTIM #1]s statement, physical evidence, and my observations, probable cause exists to believe Bolden committed the offense of Battery under O.C.G.A. 16-5-23.1, in that he intentionally caused visible bodily harm to another by striking her in the face. Additionally, probable cause exists for Cruelty to Children in the 3rd Degree under O.C.G.A. 16-5-70(d), as the act of family violence battery occurs in the presence of the two minor children.
I provide [VICTIM #1] with Family Violence information, including the process for obtaining a Temporary Protective Order (TPO) and eviction process. I advise her to contact 911 if Bolden returned to the residence. [VICTIM #1] stated she intends to leave the residence for the night to stay with a friend due to safety concerns.
A BOLO is issued for Bolden based on the information obtained.
After leaving the residence, I contacted Bolden via phone. Bolden acknowledged the verbal argument but denied striking [VICTIM #1]. I requested he respond to the Houston County Sheriffs Office to provide a statement; however, he refused and stated I should speak with his attorney before disconnecting the call.
On 04/12/2026, at approximately 0422 hours, Dispatch advised that [VICTIM #1] contacted 911 via text stating Bolden had returned to the residence and she was in fear. She advised Bolden was inside her bedroom and that she had left the front door unlocked for law enforcement entry.
I responded to the residence along with Sgt. Ferguson, Deputy Stephens, and Deputy Wheeler. Deputy Wheeler and I enter the residence and make contact with [VICTIM #1], who directed us to a rear bedroom. Bolden was located lying in bed. Dep. Wheeler and myself gave verbal commands to show his hands and exit the bed, to which he complied without incident.
Bolden was taken into custody for Battery Family Violence (O.C.G.A. 16-5-23.1) and two counts of Cruelty to Children in the 3rd Degree (O.C.G.A. 16-5-70(d)). Bolden stated [VICTIM #1] did not live at the residence and requested she be removed. [VICTIM #1] provided a lease listing both parties, confirming joint residency.
Bolden was placed in handcuffs behind his back. Deputy Wheeler checked the restraints for proper fit and double locked them. A search incident to arrest was conducted of Bolden, with no contraband found. Bolden was placed in the rear of my marked patrol vehicle and transported to the Houston County Detention Center for processing.
I did not read Miranda warnings post-arrest due to Bolden’s prior invocation of his right to counsel during the earlier phone contact. During transport, Bolden made spontaneous, unsolicited statements, including acknowledging facts of the battery (location and severity of injuries) and the presence of the children. He also made statements minimizing the victims injury, including suggesting she fabricated the injury by stating she placed ketchup on her mouth.
All statements Bolden made during transport were voluntary and not in response to questioning.
