On 06/08/2025, at 1447 hours, I, Deputy Krauter of the Houston County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Virginia Dare, Lot [REDACTED] in reference to a Domestic Dispute that was later determined to be Misuse of 911. Dispatch advised while enroute that the offender, the husband, Timothy Abbott was locked in the bathroom, and was scared because he could hear his wife screaming in the other, and he believed that she was being beaten to death by someone. Corporal (Cpl.) Ferguson advised me to respond to the scene Code 3 (Lights and Sirens). I activated my emergency blue lights and sirens and responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, myself, Dep. Farris, and Sergeant (Sgt.) B. Daugherty began clearing the residence and made contact with the involved other, Timothy’s wife, [REDACTED] who did not appear to be harmed and there were no injuries on her person. When contact was made with her, she looked puzzled and asked what had happened. Dep. Farris and Sgt. Daugherty finished clearing the residence and made contact with Timothy in the bathroom. He was placed in handcuffs and taken to my patrol vehicle where he was secured in the back seat until the scene was secured.

After the scene was secured Timothy was asked why he called 911 and he advised he did not know what was wrong with him and he needed a mental health evaluation. He was asked why he called 911 and he started he believed he heard his wife screaming and thought someone was beating her to death and he was scared and locked himself inside the bathroom. I advised him she was fine, there was nothing wrong with her, and she was not harmed. I asked him if he suffered from any mental health issues and he advised yes, and stated that he suffered from Paranoid Schizophrenia and wanted to get mental health help. I advised him he was under arrest for Misuse of 911 and he searched for weapons and contraband by Dep. Farris.

While Deputy Farris was searching him, a small clear plastic bag that contained a clear crystalline substance therein was located in his back pocket. Based on my knowledge, training, and experience I believed the crystalline substance to be Methamphetimine. I seized the contraband and secured it in the back of by patrol vehicle.

I then advised Timothy of his Miranda Rights and he agreed to talk. I asked him where he got the small bag and he advised he picked it up in the yard on 06/07/2025.

After he was searched, he was secured in the backseat of my patrol vehicle.

I advised [REDACTED] why he was being placed under arrest and she advised she was not aware he called 911. She confirmed he needed help for his mental health issues and also confirmed he had a history of using Methamphetamines.

Timothy’s handcuffs were properly check for fit, double locked, and he was transported to HCSO Detention Center. Upon arrival, all booking paperwork was completed and he was turned over to Detention Center Staff.

I checked the call history at the [100 BLOCK] Virginia Dare and through out the month of April and June there were twelve calls to 911 and all were unfounded.

The suspected Methamphetamine was sealed and submitted into evidence for test at the GBI Crime Lab.

I will be seaking warrants for the Following Charges:

  1. Unlawful Conduct During a 911 Call due to Timothy calling or contacting 9-1-1 and makes a false report of his wife being assaulted in a violent a tumultous manner. Which after further investigation was determined to be false and unfounded.
  2. Posssession of Schedule One Substance (Methamphetamine) due to Timothy being in possession of Crystalline Substance which based on my knowledge training and experience is constistant with Methamphetamine and the packaging that it is commonly placed in.
