On 01/16/2025 at approximately 10:12, I Ofc. Cooley made contact with a [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in reference to charges appearing on his account and belief of fraud or theft.
After making contact with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] he was accompanied by his son [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. They both provided me with documents showing a variety of transactions from October to January. In the transactions it showed mobile transactions to a [REDACTED BY AGENCY] as well as multiple checks and purchases with the account. I inquired if Mrs. Holcumb had power of attorney or was given access to the account to which [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated no. He does not use checks and rarely makes a withdrawal or payment for anything over 50 USD. This was consistent with what I was seeing on the bank statements provided.
I was also informed that an additional party that may be involved was a Mr. [REDACTED]. I was able to locate someone fitting the description provided in RMS. Mr. [REDACTED] is said to be the husband or boyfriend of Mrs. Holcumb. A majority of activity appeared on the account after [REDACTED BY AGENCY] wife’s passing in November. This was again supported by the banking statement and no mention of where [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (the deceased) check books location was mentioned.
I provided [REDACTED BY AGENCY] with a case number and advised him how to obtain a copy of the report. He did advise he only has a house phone and can only be reached when home.
