On 06-18-26 I, Cpl. Ribeiro was dispatched to Lite-N-Tie at the Rail road crossing in reference to a suspicious vehicle.
The caller advised dispatch that there was a vehicle stopped at the railroad crossing and was not moving. Once I arrived I saw a dark in color sedan with a Florida licence plate: [REDACTED] with the windows fogged up. I approached the rear passenger door, wiped off the condensation water and saw a male asleep on the driver’s side.
I approached the driver’s side of the vehicle and knocked on the window and the driver did not wake up. I began banging on the window and the driver woke up. I asked if he knew where he was and he stated no. I smelled alcohol coming from his breath every time he talked so I told him to get out of the car. He stumbled almost falling a few times trying to get to the back of his car.
He stated he was from Alabama and had been in Macon for about a month working on a power plant. He was identified as Jaavon Caver. He stated he went out bowling with a few friends and fell asleep on the way home. He stated he drank about six beers prior to leaving the bowling alley, dropped off a friend and was on the way home when he fell asleep. He stated he also drank Hennessee with the beer. I asked how he ended up all the way on Lite-N-Tie and he stated he could not remember. He stated he could only remember leaving the bowling alley in Macon and nothing else. When asked where he lived he was unable to tell me. He showed me that he was using a GPS to get home. I told him I was going to turn off his GPS on his phone to conserve his battery due to it being on 15% and I saw that he was trying to get to Rebel Dr which is on the very south side of the county.
Deputy Domingues performed SFST and was able to determine that Jaavon was under the influence. Jaavon asked for a breathalizer and blew .170. He was transporter to Jones County Jail without any issues.
