[NARRATIVE #1 on May 19, 2026]

On 5/19/2026 at approximately 08:35 PM, I Deputy Tapley was dispatched to [700 BLOCK] James Currie Road in reference to a fight.

Upon my arrival, I observed [VICTIM #1] holding Christopher Mullis on the ground. [VICTIM #1] appeared to be attempting to stop further conflict. I placed Christopher in hand restraints, placed him in my patrol vehicle and called for EMS to look at his injuries. Christopher had major swelling and bleeding on the left side of his face.

I then spoke with [WITNESS #1] and she advised me of the following. [WITNESS #1] advised me that Christopher had been “acting out” the last few days. [WITNESS #1] stated that [VICTIM #1] was over to visit and that Christopher was upset about it and wanted him to leave. [WITNESS #1] stated that [VICTIM #1] told Christopher that he didn’t need to be talking to [WITNESS #1] and CW Mullis in the disrespectful and vulgar manner that he was. [WITNESS #1] stated that Christopher was attempting to engage in a verbal altercation with [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #1] stated there was no need for that. The two then separated.

[WITNESS #1] stated that [VICTIM #1] was then sitting inside. [WITNESS #1] advised me that Christopher entered the house and asked [VICTIM #1], “Are you ready to have it out?” Christopher then reached in his pocket, grabbed his hammer and attempted to hit [VICTIM #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated that [VICTIM #1] then hit and restrained Christopher in self defense. [WITNESS #1] believed [VICTIM #1] to be trying to calm Christopher down.

I then spoke with [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] corroborated [WITNESS #1]’s story. [VICTIM #1] stated that Christopher had the head injury from hitting his head on the counter in the kitchen when [VICTIM #1] was attempting to restrain Christopher. The location [VICTIM #1] stated that Christopher injured his head was consistent with where [WITNESS #1] pointed out the altercation being in the kitchen. [VICTIM #1] stated he doesn’t think he punched Christopher.

While speaking with Christopher he appeared to be intoxicated. I smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath, he was unstable on his feet and his speech was very slurred. After being read the Miranda Warning, Christopher stated that [VICTIM #1] came over and began “talking about” his mama and daddy and saying things that aren’t true. When asked, Christopher stated that he did not come at [VICTIM #1] with a hammer, but rather [VICTIM #1] hit him with it.

Due to the testimonial evidence of [VICTIM #1] and [WITNESS #1], I established Christopher as the primary aggressor. I will seek warrants on Christopher.

Christopher was transported to Fairview Park Hospital and released from custody due to his injuries.

[NARRATIVE #2 on May 20, 2026]

On 5/20/2026 at approximately 07:12 PM, deputies were dispatched back to [700 BLOCK] James Currie Road due to Christopher being disorderly. I asked Christopher if he was released from the hospital the night prior and he advised me that he left the morning of 5/20/2026. The injuries on his face appeared clean and less swollen. I then placed Christopher under arrest due to the probable cause established the night prior.

Christopher was transported to the LEC and turned over to jail staff.
