On May 21st 2026 at 1800, I Deputy Coleman responded to the Laurens County Sheiffs Office in reference to a report for a domestic dispute that occured on yesterday date at [200 BLOCK] Clover Leaf Lane.
I Deputy Coleman spoke with [VICTIM #1] she informed me that she had been assaulted yesterday by Donavan Gabriel.
[VICTIM #1] informed me that yesterday at 0800 she was laying in bed with Gabriel when he thought he saw a texting app on her phone but she stated it was just an ad. She stated that he then became irate and snatched her phone from her and threw it down cracking it. She stated that he then hit her in the side of the head with a closed fist. [VICTIM #1] stated that he then made her get into the bed and and he hit her in the back with a machete handle while he held the blade end. She stated that this caused a bruise on her back.
[VICTIM #1] said that he started throwing many other items in the bedroom at her. [VICTIM #1] then informed me that he then slapped her with an open hand and told her to go to the bathroom. When she went into the bathroom he headbutted her in the lip. When he headbutted her this caused her a busted lip.
[VICTIM #1] stated that Gabriel tied her hands with an straightening iron cord. [VICTIM #1] said that she was able to get free from the cord but chocked her. She stated that she couldn’t breathe and while he was choking her she was trying to say okay okay while trying to slap his hands off of her. He told her to stay in the bathroom and if she came out that he would kill her.
[VICTIM #1] stated that she isn’t sure how long she was in the bathroom but that when she came out Gabriel made her get back in the bed and kicked her in thigh causing a bruise.
[VICTIM #1] informed me that Gabriel told her today that if she told anyone what happened that he would kill her and her family and that he would burn her house down.
[VICTIM #1] stated that this abuse has been happening since March of 2026. She stated that she is so scared of him that is why she hasn’t reported. She stated that she wants to get a Temporary Protective Order against Gabriel.
I Deputy Coleman documented pictures of the bodily injury and bruises on her body with my department issued Ipad.
I Deputy Coleman advised her that report would done and how to obtain a copy.
