On Saturday June 25th, 2022, while sitting at 1457 Dunlevie Rd at the Marathon Gas Station updating my information on my computer. I observed Mr. John Lloyd Hendry Jr pull into the gas station at pump #2 driving a gray Hyundai Accent with a Virginia tag [REDACTED]. From my previous encounter with Mr. Hendry Jr and his father Mr. [REDACTED] (case WPD22062079) I ran his information and observe his license expired on 06/23/2017. That was the reason for the traffic stop today.
After initiating the traffic stop, Mr. Hendry Jr. exited the vehicle and was told by Officer Hooker over his intercom on his patrol vehicle to get back into the vehicle to which he did not comply. Mr. Hendry was very agitated and refused to provide his license after being asked numerous times although I told him the reason for the stop. He did ask for a supervisor or Captain Reed to which Officer Hooker told him there was no supervisor available.
After about 20 Minutes, Mr. Hendry Jr. admitted that his license was revoked after he provided his real information. After verifying that his license was Revoked as of 11/15/2018, and a habitual offender as of 06/03/2021. Mr. Hendry Jr. was taken into custody at 1708 hours.
Officer Hooker walked to his address at [80 BLOCK] Hendry Lane to let his girlfriend. know that he was arrested and to come and get the car.
Mr. Hendry Jr. was then transported and turned over to the jail. After reviewing his driver’s history and verifying with Central Control, he is a Habitual Offender for driving without a license. Mr. Hendry Jr. was cited with a third offense for driving while license being Suspended/Revoked with a fine of $3300.00 (Citation # 447500245).
I did fill out a hold sheet at the jail requesting that he be fingerprinted and can be OR’d if he could not bond out. Mr. John Hendry Jr. is also wanted by Long County, but they did not want to place a hold on him.
I did call and text SGT McLean to notify him of the arrest. He responded by text.
