On 07/06/26 at approximately 0124 hours Officer Kight and I were dispatched to [REDACTED] in reference to a domestic in progress.

Liberty dispatch received a call from [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (11 yoa) stating dad was hitting mom. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] told dispatch his parents were in the baby’s room and his mother’s lip was busted. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] further told dispatch his parents did not know he was calling and wanted to cancel in fear of dad being mad.

Upon arrival, Officer Kight (130) and I separated both parties involved and proceeded to get their statements of what transpired. Officer Kight spoke with Ms [VICTIM #1] (wife) while I spoke with Mr Jwan Reed (husband).

Mr Reed stated the “couple got into a verbal disagreement about how they previously separated”. When asked to further elaborate, Mr Reed was once again stated “it was about other people they were with while separated”. I observed scratch marks on Mr Reed’s right arm and left cheek. Mr Reed also had dry blood on his nose and the center area between his eyebrows. When I asked Mr Reed how that blood got there, he could not account for it. Mr Reed stated the dispute only turned physical when he pushed her. The blood appeared to be Mr Reed’s and pictures were taken.

Based on physical and testimonial evidence, Mr Reed was placed in handcuffs and under arrest for battery family violence act and cruelty to children in the third degree.

The arrest and transport of the suspect followed department protocol consisting of the suspect being searched, handcuffs being applied, checked for proper fit and double locked. The suspect was placed in the backseat of my patrol vehicle and was seat belted in for transport. The vehicle was searched prior to and after transport with no contraband found.

The suspect was released to the custody of the Liberty County detention staff without incident.

Ms [VICTIM #1] was provided a victim’s rights pamphlet with her case number and information on how to obtain a copy of her police report.
