On Sunday, June 28, 2026, at approximately 2213 hours I noticed a 2002 Ford Explorer turn onto Shaw road bearing Georgia registration number [REDACTED].

I ran the Georgia registration number through my GCIC/NCIC system and it advised the registration was suspended. I activated my lights and siren and advised 911 dispatch that I was conducting a traffic stop on that vehicle at Coastal Oaks mobile home park near Lot [REDACTED]. The vehicle continued to travel to Lot [REDACTED] and the registered owner Mr. Larry Roberts got out of the vehicle.

I advised Mr. Roberts of who I was and the reason for making contact with him. As Mr. Roberts began to explain to me why his registration was suspended, I could tell he was unsteady on his feet and sweating profusely. I explained in detail to Mr. Roberts of the issue with his registration and he could not make a normal sentence with his words.

There was a extreme strong odor of alcohol coming from his person, so I asked him how many drinks he consumed this evening. Mr. Roberts went on to explained he had been in Riceboro at his family’s house drinking but advised it was earlier in the day when he consumed the alcohol. He advised he had about two to three drinks approximately 5 hours ago.

Officer Warren arrived and advised he would conduct Standardized Field Sobriety and came to the conclusion Mr. Roberts failed. I then had Mr. Roberts take a portable breath test and he blew a .160, which is double the legal limit for the state of Georgia. At approximately 2231 hours, Mr. Roberts was then placed in double lock handcuffs and Corporal Williams read him Implied consent over the age of 21 for his blood which he gave a verbal yes to.

Mr. Roberts was then placed in the rear of Cpl Williams patrol vehicle and transported to Liberty Regional Medical Center for a blood draw.
