On Friday, July 15, 2022 at approximately 1500 hours, I was conducting a business check at the Parkers Gas Station at GA 38 and Talmadge Rd. I observed a black 2009 Chevrolet Malibu (GA TAG:[REDACTED]), pulling into the gas pumps. I used my mobile data terminal (MDT) to conduct a status check on the vehicle’s tag through NCIC/GCIC. My MDT alerted the registered owner’s driver’s license was suspended for failure to appear on 5/13/2022. I observed a pictures of the registered owner on my MDT (Mr. Leonard Bowels). A black male got out of the vehicle to pump gas that matched the picture of the registered owner.

The vehicle drove out of Parkers, driving East on GA 38. I followed the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle using my emergency equipment. The vehicle pulled into the Allenhurst Post Office. I identified the driver as the registered owner by his driver’s license. I had Mr. Bowels step out of the vehicle.

I placed Mr. Bowels under arrest in double locked, checked for fit handcuffs. He was searched finding no contraband. He was seated in the rear of my patrol vehicle which was searched before and after transport finding no contraband. Mr. Bowels contact Mr. [REDACTED] to pick his car up.

I transported Mr. Bowels to the Liberty County Jail where he was turned over to jail staff.
