On 7/18/25 at 1511 hours I was dispatched to [300 BLOCK] Beverly St Apt [REDACTED] in reference to a disturbance. I arrived on scene and made contact with [VICTIM #1] who stated he was sitting in the living room watching television when his roommate, Mor Diop, began threatening him. He stated Mor Diop had a knife in his hand and threatened to kill him. He stated he ran to his bedroom and locked the door. Mor Diop broke the bedroom door open, causing damage to the door frame. [VICTIM #1] stated that he ran to the bathroom, locked the door, and was able to keep Mor Diop from entering. He stated he called 911 while he was locked in the bathroom.
I spoke to Mor Diop who was in the kitchen cooking. He was holding a knife when we entered the residence. Mor Diop stated he and [VICTIM #1] had been arguing about money. He stated [VICTIM #1] owed him money and he needed it to pay his car insurance. I asked him about the damage to the door, and he denied breaking the door open. Mor Diop also denied threatening to kill [VICTIM #1].
I observed marks on the bedroom door consistent with someone using the body to break open a door. The door frame was broken, and the striker plate was lying on the floor. There was no visible damage to the bathroom. [VICTIM #1] did not have any visible injuries and refused EMS.
Mor Diop was placed under arrest and transported to the Liberty County Jail by S/CPL Roberts 156 to await his first appearance and bond hearing. He was released to jail staff without incident.
The arrest and transport of the suspect followed department protocol consisting of handcuffs being applied, checked for fit and double locked. The suspect was seat belted for transport and the vehicle was searched prior to and after transport with no contraband found.
