On 01/18/25 at 0234 hours, I was dispatched to [600 BLOCK] Tupelo Trail Apt [REDACTED] for a domestic in progress. Star Corporal Roberts (156), officer Munoz (186), and I arrived on scene and made contact with the offender Tylasha Johnson. Ms. Johnson appeared highly intoxicated and was yelling random incoherent statements.
Star Corporal Roberts remained outside with Ms. Johnson, attempting to calm her down while officer Munoz and I went inside to make contact with complainant/victim [VICTIM #1]. I immediately observed a bleeding laceration on the left side of Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s face. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that she and the offender were at the nightclub “Frozen”, and she got tired of being there, so she left early without Ms. Johnson and returned home. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated she started getting worried about Ms. Johnson, so she drove back to the nightclub attempting to find her but was unable to. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated she drove back home, and when she opened the door of the apartment and walked inside, Ms. Johnson began attacking her. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated Ms. Johnson hit her in the head approximately six times with a frying pan, causing lacerations on the left side of her face. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that she kept trying to get away from Ms. Johnson and finally ran into the bathroom, closing the door, but Ms. Johnson continuously pushed the door open, attempting to attack her. Ms. [VICTIM #1] then ran out of the bathroom and upstairs into a bedroom, closing the door. Ms. Johnson followed her upstairs, broke the door, and entered the room. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated she attempted to call 911, but Ms. Johnson took her phone from her. Throughout the altercation, the offender’s were present during the altercation. Ems was contacted and arrived on scene to check on Ms. [VICTIM #1].
Officer Munoz went outside and spoke with Ms. Johnson. After processing all the information, I instructed Ms. Johnson that she was being arrested for aggravated assault FVA, cruelty to children in the 3rd degree (x2), criminal trespass (FVA) and interfering with a 911 call. I instructed Ms. Johnson to turn around and place her hands behind her back. I placed her in handcuffs, checking for fit and ensuring they were double-locked. At this time, officer Currier (194) arrived on scene and searched Ms. Johnson for weapons or contraband. Officer Currier and I walked Ms. Johnson to my patrol vehicle, and I placed her in the back seat. I transported Ms. Johnson to Liberty County Jail. Liberty County Jail refused to take custody of Ms. Johnson because she was too intoxicated and stated she would need to be seen at Liberty Regional Medical Center. I then transported Ms. Johnson to Liberty Regional Medical Center. Sgt Kunda (139) and Corporal Lamberth (189) arrived on scene and took custody of Ms. Johnson at Liberty Regional Medical Center. I cleared the scene without incident.
Ms. Johnson was eventually clearing by the hospital and transported to the Liberty County Jail by Cpl Lamberth where she was released into their custody.
Ms. Johnson will escorted to her first appearance and bond hearing within 48 hours.
