On December 4, 2023 at approximately 18:33 hours CPL C. Vaughn (#7622) and I were dispatched to a possible Burglary in progress at [100 BLOCK] Shannons Place, Comer GA 30628. (See CFS: 2312000281) Per Madison County Communications, the complainant reported someone trying to force their way into the house. The complainant stated she was taking shelter in the downstairs bathroom. Shortly thereafter, Madison County Communications advised that a female had made entry into the house and that her two children were upstairs with the offender.
While enroute to the call, at 18:39 hours the information was updated to advise that the offender was a relative that had entered the residence without permission; the offender was upstairs with the complainant’s two children; and that the offender was at the house with the purpose of fighting with the complainant. At 18:41 hours Madison County Communications advised the offender was still inside the residence talking to the complainant’s children. CPL Vaugh and I arrived on scene simultaneously at 18:42 hours. The original call was cleared at 19:03 hours with CPL Vaughn and I returning to service with an incident report. (See CRN: 23120033)
On December 4, 2023 at 19:05 hours Madison County Communications advised the complainant had called back advising that the offender was back at [100 BLOCK] Shannons Place and trying to get into the house. CPL Vaughn and I returned to the residence and arrived on scene at 19:11 hours. Upon arrival, I observed a vehicle parked in the driveway with the lights on and engine running. The vehicle was a dark colored Honda Accord with GA tag [REDACTED]. The vehicle was unoccupied and there was nobody at the front door. We checked the perimeter of the house with no contact with anyone.
The house is a split level residence with 8-10 feet of stairs leading to the high front porch and a two car garage to the lower right. Both roll-up garages doors were closed. I walked to the front door and could hear persons being loud inside but unable to decipher what was going on. CPL Vaughn requested Madison County Communications to contact the complainant to determine where the suspect may have gone. Madison County Communications advised via radio that the offender was inside the house and that the complainant had locked herself in a downstairs bathroom. CPL Vaughn and I approached the front door, knocked and announced our presence. A 15 yoa male juvenile opened the door.
CPL Vaughn and I entered the residence. Inside the front door was a small foyer with steps on the left side that went up to the main house and adjoining stairs to the right that went down to a small hallway. The right side wall at the base of the stairs contained an entry door connecting the garage to the house and the hallway went to the left, leading to the master bedroom. At the base of the stairs was a black female subject with bleached hair.
I also noted that there was damage to the framing of the garage entry door consistent with forcible entry into the residence in violation of OCGA 16-7-21: Criminal Trespass, damage to property under $500.00. The 15 yoa juvenile pointed at the female as the offender. Believing we were dealing with the same offender from the prior incident, CPL Vaughn and I placed the female under arrest for Criminal Trespass – damage to the property. We escorted her out to my patrol vehicle and placed her in my car. Once in my car, the female identified herself as Calissa White.
After securing C. White in my vehicle, I returned to meet with the complainant, [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] advised C. White had forced her way into the residence, struck her 15 yoa son and wanted C. White prosecuted. [VICTIM #1] stated that, after MCSO deputies left the house from the previous call, they ([VICTIM #1] and her two juvenile children) were standing outside when they saw a car pull up in the driveway. [VICTIM #1] stated they thought it was the other female returning to fight, so she ([VICTIM #1]) and her kids ran back into the house via the garage door. [VICTIM #1] advised they had left the garage roll up door open as they ran inside.
[VICTIM #1] advised they locked the entry door once they were all inside. [VICTIM #1] advised then the female charged her way through the garage door, forcing the door open and causing damage to the door frame. [VICTIM #1] advised she ran into the bedroom again to seek shelter due to fear of being assaulted. The female then began banging on the master bedroom door. The 15 yoa male juvenile stated he heard the female banging on the master bedroom door so he ran downstairs to assist his mother. The 15 yoa juvenile advised the female then turned around and struck him in the forehead with either her hand or her cell phone.
The juvenile pointed to the upper left side of his forehead as the location he had been struck. I did not observed any visible marks on his forehead at the time of report. The 15 yoa advised he did his the female back in defense. When asked to explain how he hit her, he demonstrated that he locked her arm up above her head and pinned her against the wall. [VICTIM #1]’s 16 yoa daughter advised the she had recorded the incident on her cell phone. I reviewed the recordings and could hear a lot of screaming but the recordings were made from inside a locked bedroom so it was only audio recordings of the incident.
[VICTIM #1] identified the female also as Camilla White, the ex-wife of her boyfriend, [VICTIM #2]. [VICTIM #1] advised [VICTIM #2] and C. White have been divorced in excess of 8 years but C. White and [VICTIM #2] have a joint child together. [VICTIM #1] advised she had just recently moved herself and her children into [VICTIM #2]’s house at [100 BLOCK] Shannons Place, Comer GA. [VICTIM #1] advised she has no idea why C. White came to their residence.
I took digital photos of the damaged door frame via Axon Capture. I also requested the 16 yoa female juvenile to save her recordings and to forward them to my agency issued cell phone. All photos and video recordings were uploaded to Evidence.com for preservation for court.
I returned to C. White and advised her of her Miranda Rights. C. White stated, when I asked if she understood her rights, “I do” and when asked if she was willing to talk to me she stated “I will.” She then began crying while stating it wasn’t right that she was arrested. C. White stated [VICTIM #2] has called and told her to come see her son. When I confronted her about the damage she caused to the door, she responded that it was her son’s house, even though her son is a juvenile. She then stated just take me to jail.
Based upon the statements of [VICTIM #1] and her two juvenile children, Camilla White satisfied the elements of the offense of OCGA 16-5-20: Simple Assault by placing [VICTIM #1] in fear of receiving an immediate injury from C. White due to C. White forcing her way into the house and subsequent behavior once inside whereby [VICTIM #1] felt the need to seek shelter from [REDACTED]. Camilla White also satisfied the elements of the offense of OCGA 16-5-23: Simple Battery as well as OCGA 16-5-70: Cruelty to Children – 2nd degree for striking the 15 yoa juvenile in the forehead. Additionally, C. White satisfied the elements of OCGA 16-7-21 for damaging the door to gain entry into [100 BLOCK] Shannons Place, Comer without authority as well as for entering for an unlawful purpose, with the underlying misdemeanor offenses being Simple Assault and Simple Battery.
Due to the residence being the property of [VICTIM #2], this incident also meets the definition of the GA Family Violence Act as defined in OCGA 19-13-1. [VICTIM #2] and Camilla White are persons that were formerly married and share a joint child together along with the commission of the offense of Criminal Trespass- damage to property to [VICTIM #2]’s house, even though [VICTIM #2] was not present at the time of the incident.
[VICTIM #1] was advised of her rights pursuant to the GA Crime Victim’s Bill of Rights and provided with a pamphlet outlining said rights.
Seymour’s Towing was summoned as the next in line tow service to remove C. White’s vehicle from the scene. CPL Vaughn prepared a Towed/ Impounded Vehicle form for the vehicle removal.
Camilla White was transported to the Madison County Detention Center where she and her cell phone were turned over to Detention Staff.
I will prepare applications and affidavits for the aforementioned offenses and submit them to to the Madison County Magistrate Court Judge seeking arrest warrants against Camilla White for this incident
