On February 27, 2023, I, Deputy Dorsey, was sitting stationary on Old Danielsville Rd/Hwy 29 when I ran a G.A. Tag [REDACTED] displayed on a Purple Oldsmobile into my G.C.I.C. Database. Upon return, I was advised that the vehicle’s registered owner, Mr. Jimmy Ellis, was driving on a Suspended license.

While sitting in my patrol vehicle, I looked through the passenger side window and observed Mr. Jimmy Ellis as the driver. I advised Madison County Dispatch that I would be conducting a traffic stop on a Purple Oldsmobile. The final stop was at 8729 Hwy 29 (Biscuit Express). I exited my patrol vehicle and made contact with a male driver.

I introduced myself as Deputy Dorsey with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. I asked the driver for his driver’s license and proof of insurance. I then called Jimmy by his first name and advised him that his license was suspended. Jimmy acknowledged that his license was suspended and advised that he was on the way back home from the store.

Jimmy handed me his license and insurance card. I returned to my patrol vehicle and entered Jimmy’s vehicle registration and driver’s license number into my G.C.I.C. database’s search engine to ensure my information was correct. Upon return, I was advised that Jimmy’s license was suspended for the reasons below.

I returned to Jimmy’s driver-side window and advised him of my findings. I asked Jimmy to step out of the vehicle. Jimmy complied. I asked Jimmy to turn around and face away from me. Jimmy was placed into custody for driving on a suspended license. Jimmy was placed into my patrol car. Jimmy called Johnny Towing to come to pick up his vehicle. Jimmy vehicle was released to Johnny Towing.

Jimmy was transported to Madison County Sheriff’s Office. Jimmy was released to intake officials. Jimmy’s charges were driving on a suspended license. Upon leaving Madison County Sheriff’s Office, SGT Kelly called me and advised that he found one green pill with M on one side and 15 on the other (Oxycodone) in Jimmy’s wallet. I went back to the jail to meet with SGT Kelly.

SGT Kelly advised that he was conducting inventory on Jimmy’s property when he found a green pill with M on one side and 15 on the other and a blue pill (Viagra) in Jimmy’s wallet. Both pills were found in balled-up paper. I talked to Mr. Jimmy about the pills in his wallet. Jimmy stated that the pill was prescribed to him, and he needed to take both pills tonight.

Due to the Oxycodone pill not being in a prescribed pill container for Jimmy, Jimmy will be charged with Possession of Schedule II Drugs, Crossing Guard Line with Drugs, Pills Not In their Original Container, and Driving on a Suspended license. Jimmy was notified of his new charges. Three warrants will be taken out against Jimmy for the above charges.

Jimmy was issued one citation for Driving on a suspended license. Jimmy’s license was kept, and a driver’s license suspension form was completed. Jimmy was informed about the form and that his license will be sent to D.D.S. Jimmy’s license and suspension form were submitted to Madison County Sheriff’s Office outgoing mailbox. Jimmy was given a property and evidence receipt form regarding the recovered property.
