FALSE REPORT OF A CRIME

On September 15, 2026 at approximant 20:33 I Dep. Hodge responded to the location of Ingles in Hull, in reference to a possible shooting.
Dispatch stated the caller is sitting at the picnic tables near the Ingles entrance, and that his three relatives are shot in a ditch beside the bank.
I arrived on scene and made contact with the caller Ronald Bryant while Sgt. Shubert and Lt. Martin searched the area for three people potentially shot. Ronald informed me he was walking from the chevron across the street when he heard three of his relatives beside the bank get shot by a person in a red vehicle. Ronald stated he then walked over to Ingles. Ronald described the gun with a big fifty round clip like magazine as well as a switch. Ronald stated if we can’t find the three people that means the red car drove off with them. I asked Ronald to come with me to show me where the incident occurred and he refused.
I then asked again about the red car and Ronald stated [REDACTED] ordered it. Ronald then goes on to say they had a car and truck in the parking lot, but could not state who they was. Ronald then stated it was at the bus stop, but earlier stated it was beside the bank. Ronald later then agreed to go over to show me where it happened, I had Ronald sit in the back seat of my patrol car and gave him a ride to show deputies where the incident occurred. Ronald then showed us where the incident occurred at which was in front of the VA clinic, but there was no signs of a shooting that had occurred. I then placed Ronald back into the back seat of my car. Ronald then asked when I was going to take him to jail Ronald was informed he wasn’t being transported to the jail. I asked Ronald if he had taken any illegal substances and he stated no. Later on Ronald stated someone put methamphetamine in his food or drink earlier in the day, but could not give me a time frame of when it happened today.
Ronald started complaining of chest pain, I then had dispatch send EMS to my location to check on Ronald. Ronald was given a ride to the hospital, after the investigation it was determined that no shooting has occurred.
I will be taking out the following warrant.
