On Friday, June 19, 2026, at approximately 2:35 p.m., I, Sergeant Nathan Salyer, was dispatched to 221 West Hill Street (Anthony’s Hair and Grooming Lounge) in reference to a domestic dispute.

Prior to my arrival, dispatch advised that the caller reported that a subject identified as [VICTIM #1] and a subject identified as Abria were involved in a physical altercation and that [VICTIM #1] was in possession of a firearm.

Upon arrival, Deputy Braswell with the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office was already on scene and had secured the firearm from [VICTIM #1] prior to my arrival. Deputy Braswell turned the firearm over to me. The firearm was identified as a Taurus G2C 9mm, serial number AEG501075.

I made contact with a female who identified herself as Abria Johnson. Johnson stated that she was attempting to meet with her child’s father for a custody exchange when an altercation occurred. Abria alleged that [VICTIM #1] and his girlfriend, [VICTIM #2], were involved in the incident. Abria was highly emotional and continued yelling throughout the encounter. I attempted to calm her down in order to obtain a statement.

There were obvious signs that an altercation had taken place. Personal items and McDonald’s wrappers were scattered on the ground. Abria advised that a friend had driven her to the location so she could pick up her daughter from [VICTIM #1]. Abria stated that during the altercation, she accidentally struck her friend in the face. The friend was unidentified, and I was unable to obtain her information.

I then spoke with [VICTIM #1], who stated that he was at the barber shop getting his hair cut when Abria arrived and began physically assaulting him by punching him and tearing his shirt. [VICTIM #1] further stated that Abria struck [VICTIM #2] in the face, causing a visible injury and bleeding from her nose. [VICTIM #1] advised that Abria was also throwing items from his vehicle, which accounted for the debris scattered on the ground.

[VICTIM #1] stated that earlier in the day he and Abria had engaged in a verbal argument through text messages, which ultimately led to this incident. I asked [VICTIM #1] about the firearm. He stated that he never pointed the firearm at anyone and that he routinely carries it on his person. [VICTIM #1] stated that at no point during the incident did he remove or display the firearm.

I also spoke with [VICTIM #2], who provided a statement consistent with [VICTIM #1]’s account of the incident. I photographed the scene, as well as [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2]. I attempted to obtain statements from witnesses by speaking with the owner and an employee of the barber shop. Both individuals stated they did not witness the altercation.

Based on the testimonial evidence and physical evidence observed at the scene, I determined that Abria Johnson was the predominant aggressor in the incident.

Abria was taken into custody without incident. I transported her to the McDuffie County Jail, where she was booked on charges of Simple Battery (Family Violence), Battery, and Cruelty to Children in the Third Degree.
