5/18/2026 2350 Hrs. Dispatched to Baggs Ave. in the area of [200 BLOCK] Baggs Ave. in reference to a black male who was lying in the road. 911 advised the caller stated the subject was either shot or hit by a vehicle. Upon both units arrived on scene, I, Sgt. Taylor, observed a black male, identified a [VICTIM #1], lying in the middle of the road in a pool of blood. As I approached Mr. [VICTIM #1] I could see he had what appeared to be a gun shot wound to the left side of his face just below his eye. 911 was advised the scene was safe so EMS could come. I immediately notified Investigator Capt. Lamb, who stated he would be in route.
I spoke with caller, Ms. [WITNESS #1], (current resident of [200 BLOCK] Baggs Ave.). Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated she heard a single gunshot and the dogs started barking, Ms. [WITNESS #1] says her 12 year old grandson stepped outside to see what was going on. She stated he came back inside and told her there is a man lying in the street. Caller stated she did not see the incident happened and was unable to give any further information. Scene turned over to Capt. Lamb and GBI.
