On Friday, August 7th 2026 at approximately 5:18 p.m. I, Corporal Sammons responded to the area of of Georgia 74 and US 341 in reference to a male walking towards Lamar County stating that he was going to whoop a deputy. While headed towards the original caller’s address of [16500 BLOCK] Georgia 74, Monroe County Dispatch advised that the male was carrying a metal pipe and that he was just trespassed from an address on 341 in Lamar County. The complainant was [REDACTED] , she stated the male was her son Benjamin Hay Jr. and [REDACTED] stated the male was at the Chevron at the 341 roundabout.
Upon my arrival, I made contact with Benjamin Hay Jr. inside the gas station. Hay stated he left walking from his parents address and was headed to Lamar County. He stated he was trespassed from an address on 341 but he was still trying to make contact with the woman there. He stated he did not threaten to beat a deputy but that he was going to remove the sheriff. Benjamin Hay Jr. admitted that his parents told him not to come back to their house but he had not received an eviction notice from them. He also admitted that he had not lived here in some time and had been living at the address in Lamar.
I made contact with [REDACTED] and her husband [REDACTED] who both confirmed this story. The parents stated that Ben Jr. had not lived at the house since last year.
Benjamin Jr. was issued a magistrate court citation for disorderly conduct 7.5-2 subsection (23) and subsection (10).
