On September 20, 2026, at approximately 1423 hours, while patrolling the area of I-75 Northbound, I was advised by Monroe County Dispatch of a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) for a silver Ford pickup truck reportedly driving recklessly at high speeds and brake-checking other drivers.

I observed a vehicle matching the description, identified as a silver Ford F-150 bearing Florida license plate [REDACTED], traveling at a high rate of speed near mile marker 186. I activated my emergency lights and conducted a traffic stop near mile marker 187.

Upon approaching the vehicle, I made contact with the driver, identified as Mr. Gregory Sweetin. I requested Mr. Sweetin’s driver’s license, which he provided. I then identified myself and informed him of the reason for the traffic stop.

Mr. Sweetin stated he did not believe he was driving recklessly and said other vehicles were attempting to brake-check him. Mr. Sweetin stated he was not brake-checking anyone. While speaking with Mr. Sweetin, I detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle.

I requested that Mr. Sweetin step out of the vehicle. Mr. Sweetin refused to exit the vehicle multiple times. I then requested Corporal Manning’s assistance with the traffic stop. After hearing me request additional assistance, Mr. Sweetin exited the vehicle.

I informed Mr. Sweetin of the reason I had asked him to exit the vehicle and asked if he had consumed any alcoholic beverages. Mr. Sweetin stated he had not consumed any alcohol on this date but had consumed alcohol three days prior. I informed Mr. Sweetin that, while speaking with him, I could still smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath. I again asked Mr. Sweetin if he had consumed any alcohol, to which he stated he had not.

Due to the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Mr. Sweetin’s breath, I requested that he perform standardized field sobriety exercises. Mr. Sweetin refused to perform the field sobriety exercises multiple times.

I then read Mr. Sweetin the Georgia Implied Consent notice for persons age 21 or older and requested a blood sample. Mr. Sweetin refused to submit to the requested blood test.

Mr. Sweetin stated he had been advised by a friend who was an attorney that field sobriety exercises could potentially be expired when performed, which was the reason he was refusing to perform them.

Mr. Sweetin was placed in handcuffs behind his back. The handcuffs were double-locked and checked for proper fit. Mr. Sweetin was then placed in the rear of Officer Denmark’s patrol vehicle, who was also on scene.

Mr. Sweetin was transported to the Monroe County Detention Center without incident. His vehicle was released to Watt’s Towing Service.
