On Wednesday,September 2nd 2026 at approximately 1824 hours, a traffic stop was conducted on I-75 southbound near mile marker 186. After further investigation, one male was arrested for multiple traffic offenses.

While conducting stationary speed enforcement on I-75 southbound near mile marker 187, I observed an Blue Nissan Maxima traveling southbound in lane #4. The vehicle appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed. I activated my agency issued LIDAR and it displayed a speed of 99 MPH ina 70 MPH zone. I pulled out behind the vehicle to conduct a traffic stop. As I approached the vehicle, I detected the odor of marijuana. As I got closer to the vehicle, the odor of marijuana became stronger. I activated my emergency blue lights and siren to conduct a traffic stop, and the vehicle came to a complete stop on the left shoulder near the 186 mile marker.

I advised Monroe County Dispatch, I was conducting a traffic stop, and provided them the location, direction of travel and the registration of the vehicle (TAG# TEST DRIVE) out of Georgia displayed on a Blue Nissan Maxima. I exited my vehicle and the odor of marijuana became significantly stronger. As I approached the vehicle and made contact with the driver (later identified to be Jacorey Jaylene Walker) it took an extended amount of time for him to let the rear window down after I knocked on it. I advised him the reason for the traffic stop was for speeding and the odor of marijuana. While speaking with Jacorey, I observed his eyes were extremely blood shot and glossy. I requested Jacorey’s license and he complied. As, I confirmed Jacorey’s information, I asked him if there was any marijuana in the vehicle and he stated “no”. I again asked to confirm that there was no mariuana in the vehicle and Jacorey advised it might be a little roach but that’s not from today. I asked Jacorey if there was anything else in the vehicle and he advised no.

Officer Maranville arrived on scene to assist. I removed Jacorey from the vehicle and I asked him if he consented to doing Standardized Field Sobriety to ensure he was safe to drive. Jacorey advised he would. I first began by asking Jacorey the Standardized Field Sobriety Evaluation medical questions. I asked Jacorey did he have Resting Nystagmus. Jacorey advised no. I asked Jacorey did he wear prescription glasses or contacts, he advised no. I asked Jacorey did he have any recent head injuries he advised no. I asked Jacorey did he have any recent back, or leg injuries that would prevent him from walking in a straight line or standing on one leg for an extended period of time and he advised no.

I began Standardized Field Sobriety with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus Test (HGN) and observed no clues:

I advised Jacorey the second test administered will be the Walk and Turn Test. I advised Jacorey to stand with his feet together and his hands down by his side. I instructed Jacorey not to move until told to do so. I began explaining the instructions to the Walk and Turn test and asked him to imagine a straight line out in front of him. I asked Jacorey did he see the line in front of him and he advised yes he did. I advised him to place his right foot on the line he imagined heel to toe with his left foot. While explaining the instructions, I demonstrated them to Jacorey as well. Once, he was in that position I advised him not to move from that position until told to so. While in this position and being explained the instructions, I observed Jacorey swaying and attempting to use his arms for balance. I finished explaining the instructions to Jacorey and asked him did he understand all the instructions as explained? He advised yes. I instructed Jacorey whenever he was ready he could begin.

During The Walk and Turn test, the following clues were observed:
First walk- Uses arm for balance, stepped off line, improper number of steps (12 steps)
Second walk- Using arms for balance, missed heel to toe

Total amount of clues observed: (6/8 clues)

I again asked Jacorey if he understood the instructions and he advised yes.

I advised Jacorey the next test would be the One Leg Stand Test- I advised him the instructions for the testing and instructed him as follows. I advised him to place his feet together with his hands down by his side. I advised him when I tell him to begin, he is going to raise either foot of his choosing approximately 6 inches off the ground. I advised him while lifting that foot off the ground he is going to count 1,1000 ,2,1000,3,1000 and so on and so forth until he was instructed to stop. I asked Jacorey did he understand the instructions and he advised yes. Officer Maranville used his wrist watch to time Jacorey and advised him he may begin.

During the testing, I observed the following clues:
Swaying and uses arms for balance, puts foot down, (2-4 clues)

Based on my observations from Standardized Field Sobriety Testing and the amount of clues demonstrated, I determined Jacorey was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. I advised Jacorey to face away from me and place his hands behind his back. I advised Jacorey he was under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of alcohol or drugs. I applied my handcuffs, checked for fit and double locked them to avoid injury. Jacorey was escorted to the rear of my patrol vehicle and placed in the rear driver side. Jacorey was read the Georgia Implied Consent Notice for Suspects Ages 21 & Over for blood and consented to a blood test. While issuing Jacorey’s citiation, I detected the strong odor orf marijuana coming from inside my vehicle. I asked Jacorey did he have any marijuana tucked anywhere that he had not advised me about and he advised yes. Jacorey stated there was marijuana in his shoe. I removed Jacorey’s shoe and located a small amount of a greenleafy substance suspected to be marijuana.

Jacorey’s vehicle was turned over to Buice’s Towing Service and Jacorey was transported to the Monroe County Hospital for a blood draw. A successful blood draw was completed and Jacorey was taken to Monroe County Detention Center and turned over to the jail staff without further incident. All evidence was secured in the Forsyth Police Department Evidence room and secured in locker #3 and the GBI Blood Test Kit was stored in locker# C-1. B
