On March 15, 2026, at approximately 0049 hours, I, Ofc. Denmark, responded in non-emergency mode to the Red Roof Inn in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, I activated my body-worn camera and made contact with the complainant, Mr. [WITNESS #1].

He advised me that the resident, Ms. [VICTIM #1], who was staying at the Red Roof Inn, had been sitting in the front office all day. Later that night, her boyfriend came down from the room and was being aggressive toward her, stating that he walked up to her while cussing at her with his fist closed.

The other worker/witness, Mrs. [WITNESS #2], was also able to verify the story. They also advised that they were worried about Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s safety, so they had her hide behind the counter.

While speaking with the victim, Ms. [VICTIM #1], she stated she was tired of the arguing, so she decided to stay in the front office where her partner/friend, Mr. Jestan Wimberly, was not. She also stated that Mr. Wimberly approached her with a closed fist and was cussing at her, which made her feel unsafe at the time; however, she stated she did not want to press charges.

I then spoke with Mr. Wimberly to get his side of the story.

He stated that he was asleep the whole time. When I brought up the altercation between him and Ms. [VICTIM #1], he then stated that he was only mad about the situation they had going on. He also stated that he walked away from her with his fist closed. While speaking with him, I smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage.

Due to witness statements and the inconsistency in Mr. Wimberly’s statements, he was placed in handcuffs with his hands behind his back.

The handcuffs were double-locked and checked for proper fit. After securing him in the back of my patrol vehicle, he was transported to Monroe County Detention Center and charged with the following:

Disorderly Conduct (Sub A1, 10, 11)
