On Monday, March 30th, 2026, I, D/S M. Clark, responded to the above location in reference to a domestic disturbance.

Upon my arrival, I contacted Ms. [VICTIM #1]. She expressed fear for her and her children’s safety. She attributed this fear to her husband’s recent violent outbursts and possible non-compliance with medication. She reported that on Sunday, March 29th, 2026, her husband, Mr. John Chance, initiated a verbal altercation. He raised his voice, walked around the house, and refused to calm down, even though the children were present.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that he threw a decorative vase at her in the front den after she asked him to calm down because the kids were home and could hear the argument. She stated she avoided being struck by moving out of the way and letting the vase hit the ground.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] then stated that he took down a painting in the living room and began smashing it on the ground and stomping on it, breaking its frame. Ms. [VICTIM #1] then stated that after doing that, he took two of their family portraits that she had custom-made and began defacing one by carving and scratching it with a knife, then took the other one outside in the backyard and threw it accross the yard causing it to smash on the ground, breaking it into multiple pieces. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated after another verbal altercation tonight he had another outburst in which he threw a chair in the garage, breaking a Halloween decoration, a piece of drywall board, and putting a hole in the wall.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that while their children, “[REDACTED], 5-year-old, [REDACTED], 4-year-old”, were on their way home from school, their son asked her husband why he broke items in the house last night, and he responded, “Did your mother tell you that?” Her daughter added that they heard everything while upstairs.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that daycare staff told her that, on days her husband drops off and picks up the kids, he smells strongly of marijuana. Staff must spray and air out the school’s front lobby due to the odor.

During the investigation, I asked Ms. [VICTIM #1] how she felt when her husband threw the vase, and she said she feared for her life. She added that he has made multiple comments in front of their two children that he has nothing to live for anymore and would kill her.

Note:

Based on my observation if the vase/decoritive figurine would have struck Ms. [VICTIM #1], it would have caused severe injury if she was hit in the upper body.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated her husband suffers from PTSD and bipolar disorder.

Attempts were made to contact Mr. Chance in reference to this incident but yielded negative result.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated the estimated total for the damages would be about $8,000.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that she also has videos of the incidents and will email them to me for inclusion in the report.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] completed a witness statement form, which was scanned and attached.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] was given a case number regarding the incident.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] was advised of other remedies for the near future.

Warrants will be taken out for damage to property, 2nd degree, terroristic threats, aggervated assault, and cruelty to children in the 3rd degree family violence.
